The Bliss Homestay

The Bliss Homestay is a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend staying there. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was clean and spacious with a large balcony area. The hosts are incredibly kind and went to a huge effort to help me celebrate my partner’s birthday. They are always happy to help with anything you need. The breakfast is delicious. We loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat!

We had such a lovely stay at Niranjala’s place. From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The accomodation is cozy, clean and super comfortable. The breakfast she cooks is amazing and there’s plenty of it too. We walked into town along the train tracks in around 40 minutes. We loved watching the sky change colours in the morning light and listening to the sounds of the birds and the forest really made our stay as relaxing as possible. We were lucky enough to try Niranjala’s cooking in the evening- it was the most delicious Sri Lankan food we have ever eaten. Honestly everything from start to finish was just excellent, we were really well taken care of.

We have liked everything. The room is new and clean, the beds are very confortable, wifi is working and the view from the balcony is beautiful, looking directly to the jungle, since is in high situated on the hill. The host is so kind and welcoming, but also so professional. She has helped us arranging a tuktuk for the two days of our stay at a honest price, and she helped us with the laundry. She has also proposed to clean my shoes as it was not possible at the local laundry !!! We have had the best Sri Lankan dinner of our stay, freshly home-made. We recommend it 100%.

We had a rocky start arriving in Ella, booking a first property which really wasn't up to standard. We hurriedly had to find another property to book, and by pure chance, Niranjala had just had a cancellation and had space for us! We were met by Niranjala and one of her daughters, and within minutes knew this was the place for us! You are the only people staying on this property so it feels lovely and private. Room was clean and cool and the bathroom is large with hot water. A light duvet is provided for the cooler nights in Ella! We had breakfast each morning, which varied each time. All was amazing and so much was provided, we didn't need lunch! We also ate dinner one night, and on another, had a cooking class where we learnt to cook 5 different types of curry! I'd highly recommend doing this! We chose to rent a scooter, which Niranjala helped arrange, for exploring Ella. If I could score this property higher than a 10, I would! If you are reading this, just book...you won't be disappointed! Thank you so much to Niranjala and your lovely family, you really made our stay so enjoy!

The location was lovely and peaceful and well located to be able to explore Ella and surrounding area. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony surrounded by jungle. The host was so lovely, always smiling and she went over and above to ensure we had a good stay, organising Tuk tuks, giving us instructions to Ella rock and helping when one of us had a migraine. We did the cooking class with her which was a highlight. The bed was very comfy and room was spotless. The breakfasts on the balcony were delicious and very generous. Highly recommend staying here.

We stayed 4 Nights at Bliss Homestay and absolutely enjoyed it. The room and bathroom is simple, yet the beds were super comfortable. Our Highlight was the Food, that Niranjala prepared freshly every day. The breakfast was so delicious, so was the Dinner with plenty of different Sri lankian Currys. We also had a cooking class at Niranjalas kitchen, which we highly recommend. Everyone at this Place was really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thanks for this lovely experience ♥️

Been travelling in Sri Lanka for nearly one month, staying in an array of guesthouses and homestays, and this was the absolute highlight! And what was that? Because of the utmost care and friendliness of the gorgeous host and her family!! I felt so taken care of, more than any other place. Helping me with TukTuk arrangements for seeing some of the local sites, and serving the most incredible breakfasts and dinners. Do not miss having a dinner, it really is worth it. The room is simple and clean and comfortable; with relaxing balcony overlooking jungle, which I loved. While there was no AC, I didn't feel I needed any, in fact I left the door open in the night and temperature was perfect Location wise I loved being up from the buzz in Ella town. I walked into town on one occasion, but otherwise getting TukTuk there and back is not an issue. If you want a really authentic and homely experience, quiet and away from the buzz, and to be taken care of, definitely stay at Bliss Homestay!

We stayed for 3 nights and it was just the best. First thing - the place - clean, comfortable, quiet with great view from terrace. Second - food - tasty, fresh made. Highly recommend dinner, and to ask for cooking lesson with Niranjala. And the best part - Niranjala and her family - always smiling, always helpfull. Thanks for everything Overal rating 12/10
