Great location and beautiful place

Old rooms, lack of maintenance, lift not working, marks in walls, bathroom not fully clean

The hotel is not a true hotel it is spread through 6 buildings and very many chalets all on a steep hillside . Our room was in a separate building from reception. We asked for easy access room but there were still steps to negotiate. Also the room was vrry gloomy - not enough lighting excaserbated by reading lights being broken. There was alot of dust on surfaces in the restaurant which felt like avtgrowback to the 60's in its decor and furnishing. Back to room - hairdryer didnt work and mirrors were eitger too high or too low. Shower was over bath - no handrails! Very difficult for myself with reduced mobility. We were expecting a beautiful old luxury hotel. We booked a junior suite - yes space but so badley arranged it was necessary to sidle round end of bed to duck under tv. However we have to say that the food in the evening in the restaurant was truly excellent. Well done to the chef.

Suite was beautiful with lots of space. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location was beautiful. Spa treatments were good.

Private garden was not particularly private with multiple guests walking through it despite the no entry signs. Not the hotel's fault although the signage could be improved at one end. Beds were very hard and not particularly comfortable.

Breakfast was fantastic, room comfortable very clean and spacious

Our room faced a brick wall, and no magnifying mirror in the bathroom difficult to shave. We did not particularly like the menu in the restaurant, the choice was not varied enough especially if you were staying for a week or more

The setting was beautiful
