"Hot and noisy"

6.0

The studio was clean and functional

No cups to make a coffee upon arrival . Too hot , very noisy because we had to have the windows open due to an heatwave,no fan & the church bells started ringing at 6pm & continued til. 9pm ,my partner couldn’t cope Garden was extremely over grown ,lack of safe parking . And someone knocked on the door at 3am . Which upset my partner also problem with the tv and WiFi . Stayed one night instead of the 3 . Went to Newquay to visit friends and found somewhere that had air conditioning and a tv that worked partner was much happier . Had to leave due to my elderly mother having a stroke

"Exactly what was needed"

9.0

Lovely little space, clean and cosy. Nice and quiet despite being by a road you couldn't hear any traffic. Basic accommodation but just what we required as we were out most of the day. Host was easy to reach and very friendly. Would absolutely book again if we were visiting the area again

No real cons, only one mug so we bought 2 to use and brought them home as souvenirs, TV was in the bedroom and easy to use but another of the same size in the living area would have been good for when we were using the space. The door to the living area could benefit from some frosted film on the glass panels for privacy. Not criticisms just personal preference.

I liked the little courtyard

The fact they could look right into the window and up to where we were sleeping it also let alot of light in maybe a black out curtain at the bottom window would help?

"Pleasant village location and excellent value."

6.0

Lovely (secret) village location on a good bus and road route

Disappointed there was no obvious address, then after I'd spent at least 20 minutes wandering around a very small area looking for it, and asked numerous local people, I discovered that directions had been emailed to me! Disappointed there was no TV for any guest unfamiliar with satellite TV Disappointed that despite tea, coffee, cups, cutlery and kettle were available + a small working fridge, there was NO milk, nor anywhere to buy any (not even at the pub next door!) The single brick dividing wall allowed considerable noise through from the host side esp barking dog (left on its own?).

"Comfortable, compact apartment"

7.0

The Annex is a nice compact apartment in a convenient location. The decor is simple and neutral. The bed is comfortable and the whole apartment is clean and tidy. The host is very friendly and welcoming. Great suggestions for places to visit and places to eat.

The apartment needs some finishing touches; the garden, although insect friendly is a little unruly with brambles and other weeds. The front door lock is a little loose. The door or the porch could also do with a curtain as you can see into the hosts garden from the bed. The bathroom needs a sanitary bin. The cupboard in the bedroom needs a new handle and the other ones tightened. The shower hook is a little bit too loose. The TV could do with an indoor aerial to watch terrestrial as the internet signal isn't strong enough to stream.

"The owner is lovely but maybe more attention could be spent to the place to make it practical and smooth for the guests."

5.0

The owner was nice to let us in even earlier the check-in time and to borrow us a disposable bbq. Her mum offered to fix the bedroom’s bulb which was not working and gave us a small table which we used to have breakfast as there was nothing in the kitchen to eat on.

we found the place very dusty under the bed. The bed sheets smelling as these had not been changed for months, with also stains on the pillows. The chest drawer had a loose handle. The shower head was loose. We had to keep it stuck in the handle of the shower otherwise it would have fallen all the times! no lamp on one of the two bedside tables. No bin in the toilet and no place where to place our toiletry bags either. The garden was not taken care overall. The plants on the wooden gate, at the entry, were full of thorns and you had to be careful of not being scratched when leaving the gate. Finally, in the garden, the solar power lights were not working and at 8.30ish pm we had to get in while we wanted to stay outside a little bit longer after the bbq. The small fridge did not have the bar to keep the bottles stuck on the side. They kept falling. No enough kitchen tools.
