Mopani Lodge Victoria Falls

I've been travelling for 60 years, and I don't think I've ever stayed in a place with more obliging, attentive and friendly staff. They attended to all our needs and requests and were very accommodating. The grounds of the hotel are not huge, but pleasant and there is plenty of outdoor and poolside seating. The area is very quiet and feels safe. The WiFi worked well both in our rooms and in the gardens. The hotel will provide meals other than breakfast, if given enough notice, but the menu is quite limited. However, there is a good restaurant only a short walk away. The city centre is too far to walk when in 30 degree heat, but a taxi arranged by the hotel will cost you 20 dollars return (for a large vehicle - there were 5 of us).

There are problems beyond the control of the hotel, such as power and water cuts, but the hotel has its own backups for these, which kick in after a short time. Our rooms were quite dated and basic but comfortable enough and everything was working; reviews here mention newly refurbished rooms, so if you want a higher degree of luxury make sure you book one of those. Some weeks before travelling, I asked via booking.com whether there were safes in the rooms, and received a reply saying that the rooms had safes or lockable drawers. The three rooms booked for our group did not have any kind of safe. It is not acceptable to mislead guests in this way. There was not much space in our room to store things and no shelf in the bathroom. We lived out of our suitcases.

The staff were wonderful and very attentive. They helped to arrange yours, good delivery, taxis etc and were very generous with their time. The room was designed to a high spec and was very comfortable. A really nice pool was available which was perfect for the hot days. Also a very good breakfast was included.

The location was quite far from the centre of town, approximately 25-30 minute walk so taxis were required to get around. The WiFi sometimes did not work in the room but the staff did their best to resolve this. Also the bathroom did not have a door so there was no privacy when going to the toilet.

Our room was very nice and spacious. There was everything we needed. All the staff members were great, very friendly and responsive, especially Tanaka (he was at the reception most of the days we stayed). They gave us great suggestions and also helped us organize lots of tours and activities during our stay. The possibility of payments by credit card was very important for us; and we were able to pay for our stay and all the excursions booked through Mopani Lodge by credit card. The breakfast was also good. There is a nice restaurant and a supermarket 3 min walk from the lodge. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Mopani Lodge, and we really recommend it to other travelers.

The location is a little bit away from the town centre, so every time you would like to reach the town center you either need to walk about 30-35 mins in the heat or take a taxi for $10, which is more expensive than it should be for a 3-5-min drive.

Atmosfera accogliente, personale molto gentile!

The man at reception on arrival and departure was very friendly and helpful. It was good to have tea making facilities. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. They tried at breakfast but it was a bit hit and miss.

Windows didn't shut properly. The shower didn't work. I reported it but the person I spoke to seemed disinterested and nothing was done. I mentioned the shower again to the man at reception and hopefully he took me seriously. Steps within the room were a bit annoying. Needing a taxi to go anywhere for meals.

エグゼクティブキングルームに泊まりました。母屋の大きな建物ではなく、朝食会場の裏側の、人目につかない離れの部屋でした。このサイトに記載されていた冷蔵庫はなく、ガーデンビューでもありませんでした。写真と私が宿泊した部屋では内装も違います。ただ、新しい感じの設備で、とても清潔でした。 シャワーが２つ、浴槽もあり、気持ちよく使用できました。熱いお湯もしっかりでます。 4泊しました。頼めば清掃してくれます。 朝食は、標準のコンチネンタルブレックファーストでした。野菜もフルーツもあり、卵は好みに応じて調理してくれます。最終日は、他のお客さんで忙しかったのか、卵やソーセージなどの提供されませんでした。忘れられてたかな？ 全てのスタッフの方々の物腰が柔らかく，親切で、嬉しかったです。 町までは距離がありますが、近くに小さなショップがあり、飲み物やパン、野菜やフルーツなどを買うことができました。

WIFI 本当に不安定で部屋では使えませんでした。私の部屋が、母屋ではなく離れだったからかもしれません。朝食場所ではなんとかつながりましたが。仕事などで絶対必要な人は、要注意です。 支払い クレジットカードで支払いたかったのに、マシーンが使えないとのこと。それなら、チェックインの前にメッセージで知らせてください。 朝食 早朝ツアーに参加する際は、朝食をパッキングして持たせてくれますが、それが、ゆで卵2個、無味のトースト、りんご一個、ヨーグルト、と、他のホテルのものと比べるとちょっと貧相でした。ヨーグルトはスプーンがなくて、食べられず。 滝までは、歩いて45分程度です。私は歩くのが好きなので平気でしたが、暑い時期や歩きたくない場合はタクシーで。10分経たずに到着。10ドルで行ってくれます。

The newly built dining area was great. The staff were very attentive and helpful - they helped us book tours and taxis. The wifi was good, mostly as we connected to a nearby starlink. Breakfast was arranged daily, and cooked fresh. The busier the hotel, the more options were available at the breakfast bar.

The room is quite dated, the bathroom door doesn’t close nor does one of the windows. The room didn’t feel very secure as the side door could be forced open easily - and there was not safety deposit box. There were also mechanics working on a vehicle outside our room, most of the day. Then at night they’d light a fire which would make the room smell.

Good location, nice pool, lovely staff & breakfast

My son's shower stopped working a couple of days in, couldn't be fixed, but he wasn't offered an alternative room. We were only there a few days, so we didn't bother getting him moved. There wasn't a door for the bathroom in my twin room which made it awkward when sharing with my teenage daughter.
