"Very disappointing but could be improved."

5.0

Pleasant village with good walks.

Sadly, we just didn’t feel comfortable here. The furniture and lighting were dingy. There are just two yellow/orange lightbulbs in the lounge making it very difficult to read or even play the board game we had brought along. There is NO BATHROOM. There is a small cloakroom under the stairs with a tiny hand basin. Then there is a shower inside the bedroom hidden behind a curtain. The kitchen, whilst clean (apart from some unwashed dirty glasses) had a mishmash of different sized crockery, pots and pans and only two wine glasses. We had brought food with us to cook for dinner together with a good bottle of wine to celebrate a birthday. We soon decided we just didn’t feel relaxed and comfortable in this place so we moved everything back in the car and drove home where we had a lovely time cooking and eating together before playing our board game and getting into our comfy beds. It might be ok for a sleepover after a night out at the lovely Red Lion pub. But as a venue in itself, I’m afraid we just didn’t like it. Sorry Wayne. I think it could be improved with some standard/table lamps in the lounge and a decent set of plates and bowls, and some better pans for cooking. Could the utility room be made into a shower room (with a decent sized wash basin)?

Great location for walking, nice village good pubs nearby food excellent, close to Bakewell and other places if needed.

Parking a bit confusing, facilities a little sparse, half toilet roll, 4 tea bags and Internet poor.

"Ok for 1 night stay"

7.0

The kitchen was well equipped and the accommodation well heated. The village was nice but it wasn't Bakewell as it was described. Good car parking and easy key access.

Both beds were very uncomfortable so didn't get a good night's sleep. The sink in the bathroom was very small could only just wash your hand and the toilet seat was loose - strange to have a shower in the bedroom without a door? The lounge, bedroom and toilet room needs some TLC. Wasn't in Bakewell as described.
