"Gorgeous beach and room! Stay could be improved with more communication"

7.0

The location is beautiful and the beach and pool are stunning. The room was spacious and clean. The property felt safe. Lots of great potential here!

The communication with staff was limited and sometimes unclear. When we requested taxis or food we were often told that the request would be completed only to find out 30-60 minutes later that taxis had not been contacted or food would not be ready by the requested time. We were not informed of what was available in the area, but it seems there are limited eating options in the area, "The Island restaurant" was awesome, so we were happy that we came across that.

"Comme sur les photos!"

10.0

"perfect"

The place is small but very clean with very kind staffs especially the chef and the front desk guy.

The owner should put effort on the kitchen side there were no food options at all in the hotel.

"Super pretty place, everything we hoped for. Food ands drinks could be better, that would make it top notch."

7.0

Amazing viee and place, beach was wonderful and very private and quit. Good wifi, and very polite, wonderful people working there, helping with anything.

A bit booring breakfast, could have been more vegetables and variety. Really good coffee. I dont know if they serve dinner or lunch? Booking says there is a resturant, and there is a resturant sign, but i have not seen anything being served. Dont know where the other guest ate dinner, we ste at the island lodge. Fridge was broken so no cold drinks, beer or water.

It would be perfect if it is cooler in the room.

"Paradise found... NOT!!"

5.0

The property presents itself very nicely with tasteful decor. We were given the suite, which was spacious and beautiful. We loved both Abdul Said, who had just started the day we arrived, and Ibrahim the chef. So helpful and sweet..

The location of this property is not good. The beach is rocky and "muddy". It is extremely difficult to walk out there even if wearing adequate footwear. There was half a meter of dried seaweed up the shore, the local kids were rolling in it as if it was straw bales. Even if you manage to go in the water, it''s a hot broth mixed with seaweed. The property is in full sun with very little shade and gets very hot. So you need to go in the water, but the sea is awful, and the swimming pool is dirty with floating green moss particles. There doesn't seem to be a system to renew the water, they just add chemicals. We never went in. The aircon worked on the first day and then packed up. It seems this is a reoccurring theme, if you read the reviews carefully. Normally we don't mind aircon or not, but here you need it. The towels are old and stained. The water in the property is salt water. We made a coffee using the kettle and spit it out and then realised that the water is salty. We left one day earlier than we had paid for to escape the place. Transport is only possible through the hotel, there are no buses or tuk tuks on the road outside. It will cost you maybe $20-30 to go 5 km up to nearby Kiwengwe beach if you take a car. The only other transport is by motorbike without helmets.... The options for meals along the beach on the village shore are just a couple. In the hotel the menu is very limited and offers zero fish. We left a day early after having paid for the room to escape the place.

"Disappointing and unsafe experience"

1.0

The hotel has some appealing features, including a private section of the beach, a pool and a dining area. However, our experience was unpleasant due to several critical issues. Firstly, the air conditioning did not work, even though it was listed as an amenity in the hotel description when we made our booking. While portable fans were provided, they were not an adequate substitute, especially in the heat. It was very hard to sleep at night in the hot room. Additionally, our sense of safety was completely shaken when fellow travelers in our group experienced a break-in during the night by a masked intruder while they were asleep in their room. We later learned that this was not an isolated incident; there had been previous break-ins at the hotel, as well as a reported assault on the beach at night just a few weeks prior. This made us feel deeply insecure, and we decided to cut our stay short and move to another hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel owner showed little empathy regarding the break-in, which added to our disappointment. The menu for food was very limited, leaving us with few options and the pool was dirty and poorly maintained. On top of this, Abdul, who appeared to be a manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout our stay. While the hotel offers a picturesque setting, the lack of functional amenities, safety concerns, poor cleanliness, limited dining options, and unprofessional management make it impossible to recommend.
