Coral Bay Zanzibar

The pool was nice.

Air conditioning was not working. No safety at all. No staff except for exceptional Kelvin who was so nice! A manager run the hotel and did nothing.

The food was very nice, and the staff very attentive. The best thing about this venue was that it was small and private, which was great for a getaway to Zanzibar. The hotel is situated on the beach but without loads of other hotels and restaurants nearby, which meant that you could enjoy some quiet.

The generator is not strong enough to run the air conditioners. This is ok if you are used to it, or if you just use the fans, but it's worth knowing. It's also (like most places in Zanzibar) necessary to order your meals much in advance so that you don't wait long when you want to eat. But this was perfectly fine once we knew it.

Everything was great! Kelvin was the nicest guy and our stay was perfect!

The apartments need a small rennovation.

Coral Bay Zanzibar is the epitome of a relaxing hotel. Beautiful view, impeccable, spacious rooms with cooling crisp air conditioning, exceptional hospitality from staff and wonderful breakfast. The relaxing pool and peaceful uncrowded beach looking out to the Indian Ocean makes for a wonderful holiday. We had the most amazing stay at Coral Bay, we arrived from Nungwi ready for a break and that’s exactly what we got. The spot is very secluded with only a few rooms which makes it feel extra special. We were greeted by Kelvin who was the highlight of our stay. He looked after us so well and was a pleasure to meet and get to know. He was very tuned into what we needed and when, very polite and kind. We had a a huge room with 2 double beds, it was a luxurious experience we were not expecting. Very clean, spacious with nice touches such as foot bowls with petals to wash sand off before entering room and beautiful decorative towel swans covered in fresh flowers. The pool was a great addition for low tide, but we also made sure to explore the rock pools looking at the fish and crabs. We recommend getting up for sunrise as it was magical and was only a few steps to the beach!

There is an island time wait for the food but Kelvin communicated this well and we were happy to enjoy the lounge/ pool space while we waited with a beer! It was well worth it, the chef Ibrahim prepared 4 delicious freshly cooked separate meals! We made sure to have lunch here again the next day. We recommend the breakfast, masala chips and chicken chapati roll.

Excellent accommodation! The staff is lovely, the owner of the place is lovely and took care above and beyond. Very clean place, excellent location and the breakfast was really delicious! I will definitely be back to stay there again.

We were staying just for one night. Kevin was amazing and very helpful and brought us all we needed. The rooms are huge and comfortable. The place is very small and quiet and fits for few days chilling. Loved the quiet and presonal vibe
