Everything was great

I liked the room I chose, it is spacious and kept clean

The breakfast is awful

We liked the view.

First of all the space of rooms was half the size that was advertised. Secondly one room was more like a corridor with a bed and basically two rooms were pass- through. To go out you had to go through two rooms and to go to the only bathroom you had to go through both rooms so no one had any privacy. On top of that bathroom door was transparent and the stuff told us that ‚ everyone just covers the door with a towel’ and suggested we did the same. The AC didn’t work in our room and after much pushing and many silly explanations it got fixed after few days. The water in the tap and shower was salty. One day we came back around 9pm and we could not get in, despite honking, yelling and knocking there was no response. We tried to call but the number provided on Booking is not Tanzanian and nobody picked up. Our son climbed over the wall, found the key to the gate at the bar, opened the gate and we got in. Our room was open and the ‚security’ person was fast asleep on the sun bed on the beach. Didn’t even hear us come in. Breakfasts are the same every morning: pancakes with maple syrup, omelette and some fruit. We had to repeat that for two weeks! There is no restaurant in the hotel and those around- like the restaurant on the island which is the closest. The price of water at the hotel is 3$! The only staff person around doesn’t speak English enough to communicate effectively, you have to listen carefully to even hear what he says. He could not provide any information about places around. Not helpful at all. When we tried to chat with the property to ask about some things, they didn’t reply or replied really late. The water in the pool is dirty, there are leaves on the bottom which nobody cleans. We were the only ones trying to use it but we first cleaned it ourselves while the staff was sitting and watching us do that. The beach is really rocky, we used the beach nearby.

We liked the decor and the privacy.

The rooms were full of moisture, smelled like mold, the bathroom was too small and smelled even more like mold, the bathroom definitely needs renovation. The towels were full of stains. The restaurant was extremely poor so was the menu and the breakfast. The breakfast was too little. This place is nice imagined but it needs to have more life it. The guy working there was nice but he can't do everything and be everywhere at once, the owner of the hotel needs to put some money in upgrading the hotel and educating the staff a bit. The pool was also not cleaned nor was the beach. They should definitely put up some pictures of the seaweed so the people can know what to expect when there is low tide. It's not really worth the money. And also some guys next door were renovating in the middle of the night so we didnt get that much of a rest.

Bathroom not very good

Great room - it's huge and nicely laid out, the breakfast was tasty and generous (adding some fruit juice would have been a bonus) and the pool was exactly what we expected. The staff were also a credit to the place - very helpful. The bay is also beautiful and quiet.

There is an issue with the general price of meals and drinks at the hotel, which are overpriced when compared with local hotels which have much larger and more luxurious setting. The hotel should target a different market for lunches- lighter options and they will then draw crowds as that part of the market is not covered in the area and would be very welcome.

Nice and helpful staff, comfortable, beautiful location, clean and good food at the accommodation and lots of other restaurants around as well.

We had the pleasure of spending 2 wonderful weeks at the amazing Coralbay. The rooms are spacious, airy, air-conditioned, and always clean and lovingly prepared thanks to the warm and ever-smiling Antonia. The team cleans the beach area daily and levels the sand, creating an incredibly well-maintained setting. The pool is clean and refreshing. The beach and tides are a natural spectacle. The food from the chef is fresh and incredibly delicious, and the warm, loving, and friendly Abdul is the heart of Coralbay. His attentive and cheerful nature defines Coralbay. If you seek romantic togetherness in secluded tranquility and wish to be warmly cared for, this is the perfect place. We thank you for the incredibly loving and unforgettable time you provided us; you are amazing.

No electricity, no internet, no water. They said it would be fixed in the evening but we were not sure. It is a very quite area with nothing to do around just local people and does not feel safe to spend the night in the dark
