The Northmore Arms

Nice location on edge of mores, would be good base for touring area. Did not eat there but menu look good and varied. Outside area for drinks was quiet.

It's in a really quiet location down some narrow high-hedged roads where I prayed I didn't encounter any oncoming vehicles! Delphi was lovely and welcoming, and the gent I assumed was the owner was friendly and cooked a filling dinner for me. Great cider!

Could have done with a thorough clean, particularly the bin in the bedroom as someone had clearly vomited into it at some point. The coffee granules were so old that they stuck to the jar, and the sugar was uncovered, so I wasn't tempted to make a drink.

I really enjoyed my stay at Northmore Arms. The owner was friendly and helpful, a great selection of beers and home cooked food was lovely. The pub is traditional and quirky, nothing like I have experienced before but that’s what made it so unique. The locals are very interesting and add to the character of the pub. I hope to return if I’m travelling through again.

I can't really put into words how fantastic my stay here was, Simone is an amazing landlady and host. This venue, Simone, and her staff Freya and Delphi were truly fantastic company. Despite being from the other side of the country i'll be making a point of returning when the chance arises.

Free parking. Television, tea service in the room, it was very quiet. The host was very welcoming and helpful. All the customers were very nice - it felt like family. We had the bangers and mash, which was very good. Small, but good selection of beers on tap.

There are only one-lane roads to get there. If you are comfortable with English country lanes, this may not be a problem for you. Frequent farm equipment on the road.

Quirky pub in the middle of Dartmoor, with spacious rooms and a very accommodating host!
