Whimsical Wonderland Cottage Retreat near Peak District

The house was lovely, a perfect home from home

Nothing, the house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed

Such a beautiful location and very well equipped

The only issue was the uncomfortable lounge furniture and the outside furniture could do with an update and no toiletries as promised available in the bathroom

Quaint cottage, beautiful location. Comfy beds, welcome gifts appreciated. Good communication with hosts. Loved the games selection.

Smelt fusty/strong cat smell. Bottom sheet in one bedroom very stained

Easy to check in and had all the amenities we needed. Particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden in the evening.

The sofa really needs to be changed. We all ended up sitting on the floor as it was that hard to get comfy on them.

The decor was very interesting and especially fun for our 2 year old! It had everything we needed and we were very comfortable.

The only thing we found difficult was parking on the drive, which is trickier with a larger car so something to be mindful of. This was made easier however by the availability of parking on the hill further up.

The cottage is in a good location, being close to Dovedale, and a short distance by car to Matlock which is a bustling town. We liked the interior decor. The lounge is cosy and the two double beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is lovely and the bath was most welcome after a day's walking.

Our main concern was the stairs. Guests need to be careful especially at the top where all the steps meet from the bedrooms, the bathroom and the main stairs. This is particularly important at night-time if one needs to visit the bathroom.

The location was lovely with good local pub and village shop and good walks. Great to get around local area.

I was nervous parking by house as narrow and steep road but public parking was a short walk and safe

Location of cottage in village of Winster, very peaceful, nice views across valley. Near to pubs and village shop, could walk from the house. We liked the decor of the cottage, Alice in Wonderland style. Well equipped kitchen, beds comfy and nice bathroom and living room.

Lovely cottage in a good location. Very clean, beds were comfortable and decorated beautifully. Welcome gifts were a great touch! Would definitely stay again, Brendan and Sarah were very responsive to messages and very helpful!
