Web site pictures did not accurately represent the cottage. We didn't realize the sitting area was in the bedroom, who wants to sit in a bedroom for a week . The kitchen was much smaller and dark,no instructions on how to use cooker top or coffee machine.Pans on a high shelf that my wife couldn't reach.No cupboard to put groceries in.A real trip hazard by the fridge. There was no microwave oven. Due to situation of cottage there was no mobile phone signal or television/radio reception.

GBI booked this for my auntie for my wedding at Borthwick Castle so the location was great for that.
My partner had spoken on the phone to the owner of the properly and agreed that we could bring our small dog for a small cleaning fee. When my auntie arrived both owners thought it acceptable to come to the cottage on separate occasions to tell her it was no pets and she was breaking the terms and conditions. I then revieve a message saying the same and basically scolding me for nor following their rules. I received that message on my wedding day. Not only had my guest, who had travelled a long way, been made to feel incredibly unwelcome and uncomfortable, I also recieve a ridiculous message on here on a day that is already stressful enough. I am INCREDIBLY disappointed and angry that this happened. ESPECIALLY when we literally spoke to the owner on the phone and agreed it was fine beforehand. When I replied to the message saying this, I was replied to with what sounded like an insincere apology and not really an explanation which sounds to me like they forgot. Surely this should have been noted down. I was not offered anything for the inconvenience and the RUINED stay. I will be letting Borthwick Castle know this too in case any of their future wedding guests want to stay here.
