Blooming Inn Shelburne Falls

A welcome guest house after a long drive in the pouring rain. We arrived after dark tired and frazzled. Things we liked: Central location, guest services email with front door checkin code and other necessary details for our stay. The Marigold room was one flight up. It was a clean and comfortable bedroom with attached bathroom, clean and comfortable bedding, mini split for ac or heat. Home has that vintage old antique feel to it. Plenty of tourist literature scattered around the home. A small refrigerator in the dining area for travelers to store small quantities of food/drink. Water coffee and teas, English muffins and packaged bread available available for breakfast although it would have been helpful l to have had some packages of instant oatmeal and some hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator for breakfast fare as a protein to start the day.

The hosts Ellie and Richard are very nice and welcoming. Even helps you with table reservations if needed. The house has a beautiful victorian English flair .. Despite it being a preserved property, they had fitted in air-conditioning to enable comfortable stay even during summer. Though breakfast wasn't mentioned when booking, they provided nonetheless self service coffee tea and basics like bread, butter, jams,etc ..

Probably a good idea to have a fan in the living & dining room areas which can get a bit stuffy.

Able to accept us at the last minute. Host met us and explained where to park and gain entry. Charming and beautifully decorated. A short walk to shops, sights and restaurants.

We loved that we could walk to everything we wanted to do ( Bridge of Flowers, Glacier Potholes and the Floodwater Brewery with the exception of tubbing on the Deerfield River. Also, the hostess was exceptional nice and helpful. Even gave my daughters some leads on fulfilling her internship requirements at U Mass. Such a good birthday weekend for our 35 year old daughter.. Would recommend this place and we would stay again.

It's somewhat dated in appearance but the hospitality, the beautiful front porch, the atmosphere, board games and books make up for that.

Location is fine. Easy walking distance to town.. We took breakfast locally.
