Edinburghs Arthurs seat View

The neighborhood and location and views were wonderful. We were in a community, not a "tourist trap". Wonderful restaurants surrounded us. Groceries were only a block away.

The apartment building was poorly maintained. The individual unit was clean, but we arrived to a dark unlit hallway with visible trash - including a mattress blocking the back exit! We were leery to enter at all. We climbed two floors over marble steps that had not been cleaned for possibly years. The hosts did not accept responsibility for the condition of the building or entry. The hallway light was repaired by our second night.

Location was central for us to travel to the start line for the Edinburgh marathon which was the purpose of our stay. The flat was spacious with big windows to cool the place down in the summer heat. Full amenities in the kitchen and living room for a comfortable stay

Mattress was a bit stiff but that's totally personal preference so do not hold this against the hosts. Some rather random paint marks on the walls through the flat left it feeling a bit unfinished, as did the lack of door handle in the toilet. Strange windows from the bathroom to the bedroom means that anyone going to the bathroom at night, lights up the entire bedroom and wakes your partner up (odd design choice, especially if you are not romantically involved with the person you are staying with)

This is a well appointed bright apartment with all the amenities you need. Beautiful windows and view. Comfortable bed and nice shower. We also enjoyed the 20 minute walk to old town.

They were out of coffee pods for the machine unfortunately. A little bottle of cooking oil would have been nice!

Gas hob not safe.. 3 loose knobs that didn't turn on the gas valves, due to being very worn. They just spun around and didnt grip the valve. We decided not to risk using the cooker again despite already doing a food shop that would require using the hob. That's why we booked self catering! Fridge and microwave were grubby so we had to clean that before use. Towels and tea towel could do with a boil wash in antibacterial as they smelt 'sour'. Curtains hanging off the bedroom rail. No handle on the inside of the bathroom door and a broken lock, therefore the door couldn't be closed properly. Shower could do with a better clean. Stairwell abit grim and dark. Advert needs to mention how many flights of stairs for anyone that has disabilities This isnt a bad apartment but overall the gas hob needs immediate attention plus the whole place could do with a deep clean.

The apartment is fully equipped and it is well located. Great value for the price

It would be great if that provided matches or something to use the stove.

Die Unterkunft war super zentral gelegen, in 20 min war man in der Altstadt, in 30 min am Hbf. Und wenn es mal geregnet hat, war auch in 3 Gehminuten eine Bushaltestelle. Am besten fanden wir aber, dass wir schnell in der Natur waren und nach einem kurzen Aufstieg einen atemberaubenden Ausblick auf Edinburgh hatten! Die Gastgeberin war nicht selbst vor Ort, aber der Ablauf war reibungslos und bei Fragen konnten wir sie über Booking kontaktieren. Wir fanden die Fußbodenheizung super gemütlich und angenehm warm!

Unten am Haus ist eine Bar, die war teilweise laut, allerdings nur bis ca. 23 Uhr, also gut aushaltbar. Vor dem Schlafzimmerfenster ist eine sehr helle Straßenlaterne aber man kann sie mit den Vorhängen gut abdunkeln, für jemand der empfindlich ist, würde ich aber eine Augenmaske und Ohrstöpsel empfehlen. Uns hat das jedoch nicht gestört.

Lovely little apartment - comfortable and has everything you need. Beautiful views and handy location for University of Edinburgh, with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby.

The first light in the stairwell wasn't working, so the first flight of stairs was a bit treacherous. I wore an eye mask to sleep because the bedroom curtain is falling off the rail and there are bright street lights outside.
