Captain Villa Heritage House

We booked a room with balcony and we were given another one without any window and any type of ventilation. There was no hot water. Sheets were dirty as per picture. Terrible stay for 6780 rupees!! Crazily overpriced, literally a scam.

Junior staff is very helpful at the property, especially, Rudraksha and Shiv.

No kitchen at the property, so, always have to order food in, even breakfast and tea. Outside food is not good quality (at least the breakfast that I ordered through the hotel staff). Bathroom flooring is new but the slope weird due to which water goes all over the bathroom and does not dry out.

Dear Travelers, TLDR: Don't be fooled by the photos and the promise of no payment at the time of the booking, the management of Captain Villa does not honor that agreement and will reassign your booking. Even though it says on your booking "You'll pay when you stay at Captain Villa Heritage House" the management of Captain Villa does not honor that agreement and will double-book and give away your reservation if it suits them. This happened on a booking I made for my parents (both senior citizens). Even though they contacted the manager (Ashish) and let him know multiple times (~9 times) that they were coming, along with their tentative arrival times, they gave away our reservation to some other party. The management tried to send them off to some smaller affiliated property of theirs (Hotel JSR Kedar). When my parents tried to argue that they had a confirmed reservation, the manager rudely kept arguing that since we have not prepaid for our booking, our reservation confirmation does not mean anything - holding rooms for such reservations was not good for their bottom line (I'm paraphrasing). I have attached a few snapshots of our communications with the manager (he deleted most of his responses).

Location: The hotel is in a prime location, just a 2-minute walk from the ghats and a 15-minute walk from Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This makes it an ideal stay for anyone looking to explore the spiritual and cultural heart of Varanasi. Rooms & Cleanliness: The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The toilets were also clean and tidy, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. Hospitality & Service: One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is its exceptional hospitality. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure we had a comfortable experience. They not only recommended great places to eat, but also sent their staff to pick up food for us when we ordered. This level of care truly stood out.

While our stay was great, there were a few small inconveniences: • Our room was provided with only one towel, which was a bit inconvenient for two guests. • There was no floor mat in front of the toilet, making the floor slightly slippery after a shower. • We had to ask for cups for tea and coffee, which ideally should have been provided by default. Despite these minor issues, the clean rooms, excellent location, and outstanding hospitality make Captain Villa Heritage House a great place to stay in Varanasi. While they don’t have an in-house restaurant, there are plenty of amazing food options nearby. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Varanasi. With a little attention to small details, it can be an even better experience!

Staff member tried to scam me out of 3000 INR for a driver he had organised, stating the driver had missed a booking due to me and I was therefore responsible for payment. I had spoken to the driver and this was not the case. See photos for context. Very disappointing. The bathroom had no exhaust fan or windows, the whole room including sleeping area was extremely humid and constantly damp as a result. Disappointing, especially considering the price.

Property very clean, value for money. Staff is very polite. Mr.Anshu is very co-operative in all respect. Very sincere and knowledgeable as far as Varanasi tour is concerned.. Property very nicely maintained
