Kaladwas Lal Haveli - A Heritage Boutique Hotel

The hotel was in a prime location and was very safe. The Old Market and Jagdish temple was walking distance. The staff was very attentive and I felt i was very well taken care of.

Interesting old building with some great features but expected from the high Booking rating a higher standard. With a bit of tweaking and some outside input it could be much better Staff very friendly and helpful, though lack of any apparent overall manager which we experience elsewhere in IndiaH

Housekeeping was erratic with things missed Location was convenient but not a particularly nice area of Udaipur. We love the old town and the hustle and bustle but the hotel is down a side street on a very busy corner.

Our stay ended up being an exceptional experience. It felt like walking back in time. The best part was the staff and the restaurant and food!

The location is within old town and the pollution was quite intense.

The property had a lot of historic value. Was walking distance from a lot of the tourist sites in the old city. It was also very comfortable.

The bedroom has a small window directly above the bed head, which makes it a tad tough to sleep unless you have an eye cover.

Our stay at Kaladwas Lal Haveli was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty of the property. The architecture exudes charm, and the rooms are not only beautifully decorated but also offer a perfect blend of comfort and heritage. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the exceptional service and warm hospitality of the staff. Their friendliness and attentiveness made our stay even more special, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The location of the property is also perfect being right in the heart of the old city. We spent three wonderful days here, and every moment was delightful. If we ever find ourselves in Udaipur again, we would return without hesitation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable experience!

Noisy area of the street

This is a beautifully restored 300 year old heritage haveli in the hustle and bustle of old town Udaipur that makes you feel like you have gone back in time. The rooms have all modern amenities such as air conditioning, and a shower with excellent water pressure and constant flow of hot water. The decor is quite luxurious in the form of solid and well made wooden furniture. The breakfast selection is very good with a choice of omelettes, pancakes, and sandwiches if you want western fare. However, I opted for the poha and parathas as the food is delicious and so filling that it allows for easy sightseeing of Udaipur and can tide you over until dinner. I would recommend dining at the rooftop terrace at least once while you’re there as they have some very typical Rajasthani dishes on offer, cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty, and served in the most beautiful brassware crockery and cutlery. We asked the hotel staff if we could include some of our friends for dinner and they kindly obliged and catered to our every need. Finally, I would be remiss if I don’t take a moment to thank the lovely staff, and especially Narendra at the front desk who went out of his way to make our stay special. The hotel has to lock up early every night but Narendra shared his WhatsApp details and we were able to have easy access to the property, even where we had to come back a little late at night. Thank you for such a memorable stay. We can’t wait to come back!

There’s nothing not to like about this beautiful place. You can’t expect to stay in the centre of old town Udaipur and complain about noise or street dogs. Earplugs are provided but we found that with the fan on at night, it helped muffle outside noises. Maybe one watch out for anyone with mobility challenges or issues with their knees that some of the steps up and down the property are quite tall so that’s a small watch out. The staff kindly carry all heavy luggage to and from rooms so you won’t have to worry about carrying weight on these stairs.

Unique and beautiful property. Felt like a step back in time and makes for a really special spot in Udaipur. It has nice nooks outside the room in the communal area (as well as the large terrace), which can be used to sit in more light and unwind. Location was excellent. Staff also very friendly and helpful - especially as sorted out long car transfers to & from Udaipur for us, which were well priced and with reliable drivers. Would highly recommend and thought it was great value for money.

Breakfast offering could be improved (e.g. juice offered before 9am). It should also be made clear to guests that rooms aren’t serviced unless requested. If arriving back after c10.30pm, we had to WhatsApp the front desk to open the property - I think this process should also be made clear. The room we had also did not have a safety deposit box - this would be a good addition if possible. As other reviews noted, the rooms can be quite noisy at night - did not have a major issue with this, which is to be expected if staying so centrally.

Breakfast was good and the location is great. All that you need to see are within walking distance. The property is beautiful and you can see that a lot of thought and care were put into restoring this Haveli. It was also nice to just lounge around in the inner courtyard and the terrace, if you like to get away from the hustle and bustle. I believe this establishment takes guest Feedbacks very seriously. I read a lot of previous reviews about this property which lists things like noise from the streets, doors closing at 7pm and staff not being able to communicate properly in English etc. All these seem to have been taken care of when we arrived for our stay. Ear plugs are provided, doors now close at 9 pm, but the staff will give you their Whatsapp number, just in case you come in later than 9pm and in our case, we felt that the staff English was adequate to deal with our requests. So I can only say that this property will get better and better.

As the property is situated within the old town of Udaipur, it can get noisy at night from the traffic and the stray dogs. Ear plugs are provided in the room, just in case you need it. However the noise is part of the Udaipur old town and it is part of the experience. The noise disturbed us only on the first night as it was all new.for us On the second night, after a long day discovering Udaipur, we were so tired anyway, that we did not notice the noise anymore.

The most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in, so spacious and the decor is exquisitely done. Rooftop restaurant was lovely, if a little quiet during our stay and despite being right in the centre of town, a very peaceful night’s sleep.

Taxis cannot come to the Haveli as it is in the centre so you have to get a tuktuk or walk 7 minutes from Chande Pole car park
