Perfect Location, Clean & comfortable room, friendly staff & great price

The Lochranza Inn has a very nice pub, excellent food and cozy atmosphere. This is where the locals meet as well, a community hub! Very nice.

The rubbish (old stove etcet) laying around the property!

Breakfast was good and the staff lovely.

Unfortunately despite given keys and instructions that we would need them to get into the property after 10 pm, we were locked out which necessitated me calling out at midnight until another guest came to the door to let us in. The keys must have been incorrect.

Good food, nice selection of drought beers and freindly staff. Room was okay. Recommended.

The hotel is in a wonderful location. Lochranza is absolutely beautiful. The "main" road goes right past the hotel so it is easy to get to but there isn't much traffic so it won't disturb you and the loch is directly beyond that. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel with buses to Brodick and Blackwaterfoot. The staff are friendly. The room was comfortable. Wifi works well. The food was good (but the bar does seem to get very full so you need to book to be sure of being able to get in). I understand the hotel closed during Covid and has only fairly recently re-opened after a community buyout so it is great to be able to have somewhere to stay in Lochranza

The breakfast is quite basic. There is no cooked food at all, which surprised me. There is the Sandwich Station about 5 minutes walk (turn left) which does bacon and egg rolls as an alternative, but you have to eat outside with the midges! The sound proofing is very poor, when people walk around above you hear all the floorboards creek and anyone running water in adjacent rooms leads to a loud hiss noise in the room I had. I was woken up at 5:15am by someone above one day who then ran water every few minutes, so could not get back to sleep. However the bar closes at 10pm so you won't be disturbed from noise from the bar at night. NOT the hotels fault, but also bear in mind the ferry service CalMac advertise on their website is nothing like they provide. Although they advertise ferries from both Ardrossan and Troon the former doesn't actually run, so if you book and pay for tickets from Ardrossan they will move you to a sailing from Troon anyway at a later date (which takes longer) and at different times. I had that for both ways, cutting short my visit. Also they advertise they provide catering on board the ferry, but there was no catering in either direction - not even a cup of tea!

Lovely bright clean room. Great food and really friendly staff. Community run hotel doung a great job providing local jobs and livelihoods. Great location tight on the coast.

Community run pub and hotel. Super friendly and nice buzz in wonderful setting.

Positive for many but may not appeal so much to those who like bling.

Feel a bit intimidated walking into the bar, obviously not locals. Very dated old fashioned decor and rooms. Bed was comfortable but was expecting more hotel standards for the price paid.
