The staff member who I spoke with on the phone to actually find the property was lovely. The property was not at Alexandra house but at a 7 minute walk away from Alexandra house called the ‘boat house’. So polite and friendly staff for sure.

First of all the miss leading image of where the property is including giving the complete incorrect address on the booking. To add they falsely included the image of Alexandra house which is not the hotel I stayed at, I was then given the correct address ( 7 mins away) called ‘the boat house’. Secondly the whole building including my room reeked of cigarettes I’m assuming as a lot of the rooms have balcony’s and residents don’t close the doors. There wasn’t one object that didn’t smell including the toilet paper, I could tell they were aware of this as they had the windows open, a defuser in the bedroom not on and electronic air freshener on (which did nothing). Importantly, I didn’t sleep a wink couldn’t wait to get up early and leave. The only clean thing I found was x2 towels so wrapped that around my pillow- also to add found a sticky remote control which only had the option of YouTube. If the room was £30 pounds, I would not have wrote a bad review but for £82.00 that was the worst night stay I’ve probably ever had. I have no images to add as it was the smell being the issue but I’ve attached an image of the actual building and address of 26 Lee Street, LE1 3AU for future reference.

There weren’t blankets or pillows for the second bed, nor any towels provided. The location of our booking was changed, and when we arrived, the code given to us to enter was incorrect.

Size of the front room / kitchen and bedroom.

Flooring was dirty, both carpet and floor tiling were tidied. Blinds in the bedroom were poor and unable to stop the 2 floodlights from the building across the road all night. Main issue is how the ‘form of identification’ was kept. Taking a photo on a mobile and being clearly saved on a WhatsApp chat. I queried how long my licence would stay on there, I got told ‘it would be deleted tomorrow’ however seeing the chat with other images clearly from days and those people were available at check out to confirm. I would like confirmation this has been removed with evidence. Checked in Tuesday 26th August around 6pm.

It felt very unsafe. it smelled really bad in the corridors. the corridors were dirty.

I didn’t to be honest I booked some where else and we was moved to a different place because they over booked it was a place we didn’t want to stay top of that the oven didn’t work we had issues with the remote for the tv and at to ask for a microwave too there was no cookery till we asked for it and my partner and my son got bitten a lot came away with bite marks all over them wasn’t happy and at all when approached they took no responsibility for it which was very ignoring.

Bed obviously not changed from last occupant, room and windows dirty, sofa bed broken and not enough plates/cutlery for the number of guests. It was noisy - near the lift which ran with a very loud lift bell all night, people running down the corridors after 11pm, noisy outside through the night with shouting and very early in the morning (6am) with heavy industry. In a non-smoking building we didn't expect to not be able to open our windows during the current heat wave not just because of the amount of cigarette smoke that came in but from the serious amount of cannabis being smoked. Yes we understand with the amount we paid not to expect too much, but there are some things (serious noise and cleanliness issues, broken furniture and the cannabis problems) that even the most budget of rentals shouldn't have.
