Burlington West hotel

Friendly staff, who try desperately to help as management won't invest in the place

New door and frame fitted room 23, no fire seals broken plaster, exposed interior to walls , Ill fitting and broken fittings, poor water supply to tap 10 mins to get hot water to sink , 10 mins to drain away. No blinds, frames for them, just lightweight curtains. No blind or curtain in bathroom that faced to main road,

The location

The hotel is very poor and the rooms are full of mould just painted over. Rooms not fully cleaned

We liked the location and the staff seemed friendly

The room looked nothing like the pictures. We were on the top floor and there was wallpaper peeling off of the roof where there has been damp, the headboard on the double bed was not attached and handing off but had been hidden by the pillows put against it. Son dropped a sweet on the floor and when we picked it up it was absolutely covered in various hairs. The shower looked clean but the room itself felt unclean. There was a little pocket attached to a table which was unclean inside and the remote control covered in grime. Unlike the pictures. Everywhere hallways etc look unfinished. Booked based in images and feel like this wasn't as advertised at all!

I liked how they made an effort for my sisters birthday. The location was good. Was abit of a walk but it’s completely fine.

Everything else it's disgusting Bed mattress was broken and gave me a bad back Curtains and blinds hanging off the rails Etc etc Please ignore all the other reviews they must be writing them thereselves!

The location of the property was good. The room was clean we booked for three adults and a child. I actually thought from the booking it would be two double beds we were surprised by the extra single bed ideal for my little boy. So we didn't have to share a bed. The staff had obviously looked at who was staying and found the best fit for us, they were friendly and willing to help. The hotel has a nice bar area downstairs with a pool table. I can't comment on the breakfast as we chose not to include this in our stay.

There were only a couple of very small issues with our stay which could be very easily fixed there were no tea spoons to stir the brews. The hotel provides tea, coffee and kettle with milk and sugar included they also provide biscuits is a nice touch. The other issue was the door outside our room was very creaky so we could hear when other residents were opening and shutting it nothing a little bit of WD40 wouldn't fix. But overall we had a great stay and were staying again.

Beds uncomfortable and lumpy

Whilst the property is about a 2 mile walk from the tower, the proximity to the train station and tram stop to take you the 2miles is fantastic! Arrive by train, unpack, grab a tram.

The guy working night shift clearly didn’t want to be there. One comment made when he had a phone call “don’t they know check-in is no later than 9pm” in a very disgruntled tone. To be fair the check-in isn’t obvious on the booking (and it didn’t refer to me). The hotel is quite dated but it was suitable for just a night and I found it quite comfortable to be honest.
