Montpellier de Tulbagh

The staff were extremely friendly Waking up to birds was awesome The whole farm was great to explore Breakfast was served in different and lovely places Birds singing in the treetops was really incredible Music during bereakfast was enjoyable

The garden is beautiful. Enough rooms for everybody. Great location for a big family get-together. Space for children to play. The staff was very helpful: I would stay at Montpelier again if I travel to Tulbagh.

The kitchen is not well equiped. The bathrooms need urgent maintenace/upgrading. It is a work in progress. Roof need maitenance: visible damage due to water leaks. A big dining table with enough chairs to accommodate 10 people would add a lot to the experience.

Gardens are beautiful

We stayed in the Manor. It was not a good experience at all. And my husband wanted to leave but it was too dark outside to drive.

It is pretty and quaint

The bed had metal furnishings at the foot, making it a bit short. There are rooms where this wouldn’t have been an issue. I didn’t think to check when booking in.

The reviews for this chalet, Rietdakkies, were misleading. The place was fully equipped and clean. The location is ideal and the farm's wine tasting and pizzas about 500m away are a highlight. The fireplace inside was very welcome. It rained the whole weekend, but we were very cosy.

The doors are very breezy and a few small tables would be useful in the bathroom and house would be welcome. We had an attempted break-in on one morning when we were out. Fortunately nothing taken, but a bit worrisome.

The location was perfect and convenient. It is roughly 5 or 10 minutes away from neighboring wine farms. Montpellier has their own wine farm as well and around the corner is Bouval, which have the most amazing pizza's. The breakfast was an additional R120 and we really enjoyed it, as we sat in the farm kitchen and ate with the other guests. A lovely way to meet new people.

There was nothing that I didn't like and I do highly recommend staying here.
