Firefly Boutique Lodge

The staff was friendly and there was a good atmosphere. The building was truly beautiful, very unique and historical. Both the inside of the building as well as the outside space was great. Enough options for breakfast, snacks and dinner.

The only disadvantage is that some rooms do not contain air conditioning.

The place was lively and full of greenery. Nice garden area where you can sit and relax.

Well, first of all, we did not get the room which we booked. It was told that the AC is not working there, We were given a room in the West side of the property. Ironically, the AC was also not working in this room too. Personally, I did not like the room.

The food and staff are exceptional! We really had a fabulous weekend! We travelled with our two children (6 and 2) and they really enjoyed the outside and pool area. The prices are really also very good, and they staff really go beyond to make your stay memorable. When you are there, try the stuffed chicken, I think I would have eaten the plate too if I could chew it, it was THAT GOOD! We really enjoyed Bagamoyo as a whole, next time we are trying their Zanzibar property.

Only the non-aircon Family room was available - next time when I go I will plan around the aircon family room's availability as Tanzania gets very hot this time of the year. Other than that, we really had a great time!

Everything is just so chill. We can stay in the room, lay by the pool etc. the food is delicious!

There is a challenge between what is offered on booking.com and what is provided at the location. I booked a family room with extra bed for a price. When we arrived they showed us that room and it is just one bed, no extra bed provided. Only that the place was quiet they had other rooms available but I had to pay a $20 surplus for the new room. Travelling alone with 2 kids, I purposely booked the extra bed as one is a teenager.

Food was good and rooms were good.

More range of food eg deserts. I caught a stomach infection which my doctor said probably came from the water provided at Firefly.
