Casa Cactus Buenavista

Casa Cactus Buenavista was the perfect peaceful escape! The lush gardens full of birds, the beautiful pool, and our charming casita with a super comfortable bed, hammock and private terrace made it easy to relax. The WiFi worked great throughout our stay, which was a big plus. The staff — Jey, Sebastián and Mia — were warm, attentive, and helped with everything from taxis to beach clubs. We took an ADO bus to Bacalar and a short taxi (about 30 mins / 200–250 pesos) to the property, and got around easily without a car. We loved the breakfast and dinner plan — every meal was delicious (favorites were butter chicken, cochinita pibil and tuna poke bowl!). We also recommend Sebastián’s private sailing tour — a serene experience with guacamole and drinks on the beautiful northern lagoon. The small town of Buenavista feels rustic, safe and peaceful, with lagoon access a short walk away. We highly, highly recommend staying here!

The property may be a tad remote for some but we absolutely loved their location!

Very friendly couple eager to help and share. Peaceful small resort away from Bacalar noise but with easy access to the laguna and with delicious, original and healthy food (which is quite uncommon in Mexico) served by smiling Maria. Loved place's and people's vibes 🤩

Les hôtes sont très accueillants et sont prêt à vous aider en cas de besoin. L'endroit est un peu reculé ce qui laisse place au calme et pas trop éloigné des activités. C'est un petit paradis où il fait bon de se poser.

You arrive and immediately feel warmly welcomed. This small, family-run establishment captivates with its charm, and the two hosts, Jey and Sebastian, anticipate your every need. They go out of their way to ensure your comfort. The rooms are lovingly furnished and spotlessly clean. If you're looking for authentic accommodation away from mass tourism, this is the place to book. Jey and Sebastian also offer private meals and sailing trips.

Die Unterkunft ist ein stilles Paradies, ca. 25 km von Bacalar entfernt. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Jeder Wunsch wurde uns von den Augen abgelesen. Es gab ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück inklusive Baguettes. Alles wurde frisch zubereitet. Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche übrig. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und werden auf Wunsch täglich gereinigt. Wir hatten einen der vier alleinstehenden Bungalows. Top Empfehlung. Wer den städtischen Trubel sucht, muss circa 25 km nach Bacalar zurücklegen. Der Betreiber spricht spanisch, englisch, deutsch und französisch und hatte immer super Tipps für uns parat. Wir haben uns super nett unterhalten. Seine Frau ist ein Goldstück.

Alle waren sehr nett, haben mit Anliegen oder Wünschen sofort geholfen und die Anlage und der Pool sind wahnsinnig schön. Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass das Dorf klein und abseits von Bacalar ist, wir sind jedoch grade für die Ruhe dorthin gekommen und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück wird variabel an die persönlichen Wünsche angepasst und es gibt im Dorf auch zwei kleine Restaurants, wo man nett und preiswert etwas essen kann, außerdem einen Wasserspender. Die Zimmer werden jeden Tag sehr gründlich gereinigt und wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt.

Als einzige Kleinigkeit hätten wir uns ein Moskitonetz über dem Bett gewünscht (waren am Ende der Regenzeit dort) - es gab aber Netze vor allen Fenstern und Türen also ist das wirklich nur ein Minipunkt. Sonst war alles fantastisch

A very beautiful hotel with clean rooms, very comfortable beds, even a nice hammock and some chairs outside your room to relax in. But that's not even the main reason to go here. The owners are very friendly, attentive people who want you to have the best time. From advice on what to visit/do during the day, to cutting some aloe vera to treat my sunburn, they are ready to help. Just awesome!. Also, Jey is a great chef. I absolutely recommend having dinner at the hotel when you are there!
