The location and views are just perfect and the floor we stayed on (bedroom, sitting room and bathroom) was all immaculate with some absolutely amazing decor. Loved it.

"We had a great stay at The Gallery and would love to come back again."

10.0

The room was clean and had a comfy bed. It also had a kettle for tea/coffe and a little fridge which we appriciated. The location could not be better. It's in the centre of Port Isaac with restaurants, pubs and shops just minutes away. The view over the bay/harbour in Port Isaac was stunning.

There is no car park at The Gallery, but that isn't really a problem since there are a couple of public car parks near by. It was possible to stop and unload/load our suitcases just outside the entrance before parking at one of the public car parks.

"A Perfect Stay with Stunning Views"

10.0

We had a wonderful time at the gallery and truly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was excellent, with our own private lounge, a generously sized bedroom, and a lovely, well-appointed bathroom. We also had the pleasure of using the garden, which offers a beautiful view overlooking the sea perfect for relaxing. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, and of course, the famous Doc Martin’s surgery. Owner Martyn is exceptionally kind, always helpful, and very attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and will most definitely be back.

"Friendly host. Everything else disappointing."

3.0

Good view (if you are tall enough to see out the windows). Owner was friendly and as helpful as he could be.

We were very disappointed by this property. Depending on your preferences it could be described as somewhere between 'quirky' and 'absolutely not fit for purpose'. We actively disliked staying here. The photos and description on Booking.com make it look great, but the reality is very different. The host/owner was helpful and friendly, but is not a hospitality professional, more a chancer trying to fleece people with an unsuitable property in a location with few options. In retrospect the garbled introduction when we arrived was a result of him trying to cover up the deficiencies of the property. Arrival times, number of guests, and a pet (extra fee applied and waived in the same sentence) were all a surprise to him, despite being clear on Booking.com. Strangely we were repeatedly asked to pay in full for the stay within the first 30 minutes of arriving. It was not made clear why this was the case. I can only imagine other guests have either left without paying (surely covered by credit card details on Booking.com?) or once people have had a chance to view the property have decided not to stay (with good reason). The description does not mention that you get 3 separate rooms on the top level - a small bedroom (which can be locked), a small sitting room (can't be locked) and a bathroom (locked from inside only). There is no other separation from the rest of the house, which means it completely lacks privacy and security. Not suitable for dog owners at all. The whole house was very cold, and relied on some ancient oil heaters to warm the rooms. The bedroom window could not be closed, and some tape had been used to try and seal (unsuccessfully) a 3 inch gap. Access to the garden was a safety hazard. All the above could be forgiven if the property was good value, but it is not. Owner is taking advantage of lack of options in Port Isaac, and charging far to much for what is on offer. Description needs updating to avoid others being...
