"We had a great time in Port Isaac, and the Gallery was a very good place to stay."

8.0

Our host, Martyn, was very attentive, making sure we had what we needed. And he was helpful with a couple of requests we made. In particular, making a taxi reservation to leave and recommending restaurants. Also, the facility is kind of a unique experience. Martyn is an artist, and the building has art work everywhere. Also, there is an actual gallery that is part of the property. The location is great. Just a few steps away from the platt, where the fishing boats are launched and tied up. Pretty much everything in Port Isaac is in easy walking distance.

Being 81, getting into a shower that is also a European bathtub is difficult.

"A lovely stay."

10.0

The view from our room was exceptional looking across the water to Doc Martin’s surgery and Bert’s cafe. The hotel used as the school in the show is conveniently located across the road, so the property position is ideal. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable. Martyn was most helpful with recommendations on places to visit, where to dine, park our car and helpful with our luggage.

All good.

"Very enjoyable time in Port Isaac and the Gallery was in a fantastic location - highly recommend."

9.0

The owner, Martyn, met us when we arrived , offered to help us with our luggage - which was nice given the steep steps up to the room. He also gave us a little tour of the property and offered a number of good suggestions for local restaurants. He provided milk for tea/coffee and some fruit - nice touches. We had several delightful conversations with him over our stay that we very much enjoyed. He had good advice for local destinations and was very accommodating when we had delays in our itinerary. He was also good about communication prior to our arrival. The location was exceptional, within easy walking distance of everything and very convenient. We were on the 3rd floor and had a great view of the town and harbor from our top floor window.

It was a bit inconvenient to have to park in a car park but very understandable given the great downtown location of the property. Nothing Martyn could do about that.

"Exceeded expectations in all regards. Accommodation, Location and Views from the room were perfect"

10.0

The location was perfect, right in the center of town and the view from the room could not have been better with beautiful views over the harbour. The room was really quaint with a vase of fresh flowers and the friendly host was available if needed for clean towels and replenishments

There was nothing I would have wanted to change

"Disappointing and expensive at 150 pounds a night."

4.0

After booking the guest house, we were informed that the price did not include breakfast and we needed to go elsewhere to eat. There was also no parking and we had to park up a steep hill for a further £10 per day. My husband has heart problems and we would not have booked this accommodation had we known this beforehand.

No hot water for showering, over a two night stay. No parking, no breakfast. Expensive at £150 per night.
