This property when booked was advertised as a Guest House a bit misleading Also advertised is parking which is essential Not true!....Permit holders only! so we thought there is probably a disc in the property to use, we had to look for parking which was over and above the cost of our stay I was a shared lounge and kitchen Also Not made clear on the advertising, the bedroom was too small....facilities clean though

Stayinn is incredibly irresponsible and in fact dangerous. Normally, it is stated on their website that check in is until 10pm. At the time of booking, I asked if I could check in after 11.19pm, when the train from Edinburgh was expected. I was told this would not be a problem. When I arrived at the accommodation, there was no key in the key box. For 30 minutes I tried to contact Stayinn but they were not answering messages or the phone. I also tried contacting booking.com's customer service. Eventually I gave up and spent a great deal of time trying to find another available location at that time of night. Obviously if I was a single female customer this would be highly dangerous. Stayinn made 2 mistakes. First, they gave me the key code to the wrong key box. When they finally did reply, they told me to use a different code for a different box. The key box was empty because another customer had taken the key, implying they had given the same code and box to two different customers. The second error is obviously that they neglected being available in case I had a problem, even though I asked ahead of time whether a late check in would be possible. The next day they were vaguely apologetic but also defensive, saying (irrelevantly) that this is why they normally have check-ins before 10pm, to prevent such things happening.

Clean, great communication

Room description and confirmation did not describe room as accessed direct from communal living/kitchen area. As a solo female traveller would have also preferred the bedroom door to be solid rather than part privacy glass. Would have felt more comfortable with a better bedroom door lock.

The room is warm but small. Enough to stay one night as it was my case.

The key system they have is good, but if you don't have the correct keys, it's a little difficult to contact them, but when you do, they were very willing to help you.
