Downs Hotel

Convenient location for South Downs, Brighton, Amex stadium and Falmer university campuses. Lovely full English breakfast. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Nespresso machine is a nice touch.

The room was above the kitchen, so it was very warm. To counteract this there is air conditioning, but it didn't work very well - perhaps it was in need of a clean and service because the unit looked dusty inside.

Lovely pet-friendly hotel. Good size rooms and very comfortable. Great deals during the week on food, such as BOGOF on burgers, offers on steak night, etc.

Our room was very comfortable with a lovely big bathroom. There were tea and coffee making facilities plus a tiny fridge big enough to hold a carton of milk, which was much appreciated. Our lunch was very good so was our breakfast. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Location and good value for money. Food, both the evening and breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.

Für uns perfekt. Die erste Nacht auf einer Rundreise durch England. Angekommen direkt einen Parkplatz vor der Tür bekommen. Im Pub sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Super gemütlich und toll eingerichtet. Haben später hier auch gegessen. Sehr gutes frisches Essen. Auch das Frühstück am nächsten Tag a la carte war sehr gut. Man hat Aussicht bis zum Meer. Die Zimmer sind über eine Treppe in den ersten Stock zu erreichen. Toll eingerichtet, modern, sauber und alles vorhanden was man braucht. Badezimmer modern mit großer Dusche. Bett groß und bequem. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Room was lovely. Decor was modern and bathroom was stunning

The room was cosy and it had many higher spec features such as a coffee maker, rain shower and air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and, despite being situated right on top of a main road junction, there was no outside noise. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast options were a surprise. You are presented with a menu with a variety of cooked options, but there were no non English Breakfast offerings - eg, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, croissants - which we thought was very strange. Overall, a pleasantly quirky, large pub with rooms above with pleasant staff, but it is probably a little overpriced.
