Very good location and host very gentil. The place around is also very pretty!

In the fridge, host could add a place for “common use”. I bought some food that could not eat in time. For these situations, I could’ve left to other guests, if they wanted to.

I stayed at the Pleasant Rooming House for 5 nights. If you look at Google Maps, you'll see a barber shop. But don't be put off, you won't be staying in the barber shop :-) There's a small door at the entrance to the barbershop on the right, and then you're in the right place. And you'll get detailed instructions. You can't get lost. I was looking for relatively affordable accommodation in Washington and not a shared room this time. I've only had shared rooms for the past few weeks and wanted a bit more privacy. I can live with a shared bathroom, that's OK. I found the surroundings to be alternative. The last time I smelled this much marijuana was in St. Pauli in Hamburg :-) But you have everything you need within easy reach. The metro and two supermarkets (LIDL and GIANT) are a 5-10 minute walk away. There are also many small restaurants nearby, a few laundromats, and much more. You have everything you need on site. The metro takes you to the main attractions in 10 minutes. There are two floors with rooms, three on each floor. There's a bathroom on each floor and a kitchen on the first floor. The whole place is a bit noisy, but thanks to the guests, it was still very quiet and pleasant. And if everyone maintains a certain level of order, cleanliness, and consideration, this isn't a problem. Wi-Fi is very good and fast throughout the hotel. The hotel manager takes care of everything. You're in good hands. If you have any questions, just let him know, or he'll ask if you need anything.

The pleasant rooming house is conveniently located near both the bus and metro stations. The host is extremely friendly and accommodating, providing all the necessary information about house rules and the check-in/check-out process. Clean towels and toiletries are also provided.

The only issue we encountered was with the doorknob. We reported the problem to the host, who promptly responded that it would be fixed.

Nice location, not far from the metro station. You can have breakfast at a restaurant few steps from the spot. Though it's among the residential area, and there's a Target nearby, it's quiet at night. The bathrooms are shared, but other than that you get what a fair hotel can offer (towels, water pitcher, etc.) at a low price. The host is extremely friendly and helpful. He won't disturb your stay, but will always show up when you need help. I would say it's a very satisfying experience overall, especially for a solo traveler like me.

The facilities are quite old. The door knob in particular fell off during my stay (though the host fixed it in time). Also, you should hope for a quiet cotenant. Otherwise, the room is not so noise insulated, and it's better to wear earplugs.

I really liked the location — 16th Street is beautiful and cozy, with embassies of various countries nearby. It was nice to walk from the city center to the apartment. In the morning, I went for a run to the Smithsonian Zoo — a great way to start the day! The room was clean and spacious, everything met my expectations.
