Venice Premium Houseboats Alleppey

The room is completely different from the pictures shown in booking.com. The vessel was old and aged and not well maintained. The wall paper in our room was torn. The toilet was not well maintained. The toilet doors were stained. The water in the toilet was brown in color and tasted salty. The check in location is far from central and no public transport to reach. Guests have to book their own transportation to and from the check in point. The service of the staff was ok. But they didn't switch on the Air con at 8pm as stated. When I requested they told me it will be switched on at 8.30pm instead. After I notified the admin staff, it was switched on. The food was very good. However the boat tour was quite a disappointment. It just cruises around nearby rice fields. No explanation of the sites and history of the location. It stopped halfway where smaller boats will take customers to the canals but we need to pay an extra 300 rupees per pax. We decided not to take it, instead took a walk in the canals. We found this more fruitful as we had interaction with the residents along the canal. Basically the houseboat only provides accommodation and food. If the client is looking for experience with the lake and canals you may be disappointed. They have some newer vessels presumably in better condition.

The service from Venice Houseboat was excellent. The staff were very kind and provided proper guidance. The food was delicious, and the rooms were clean.

All the staff were super super friendly and amazing. I bought a fish with the help of the crew / captain and the chef cooked it for me. Yummy. Thank you guys. Otherwise - Everything about the backwaters cruising was sublime.

I did not appreciate the constant email from the houseboat demanding for 25% deposit and threatening to cancel my booking. That was not mentioned when I booked on booking dot com. I was on the road from one place to another. In the end there was only 3 rooms occupied and only about 5 of us turned up for breakfast and FYI - there are about 2000 houseboats. For the price, the houseboat is dirty - need thorough cleaning - can do better. It's hot and wished they can be more flexible with the A/C

Rooms were not clean, food was not great and they gave AC , in the room only from 8-6 am. Cutting off electricity in between too.
