Venice Premium Houseboats Alleppey

Neatly maintained Houseboats.Staff were very competent and helpful.

Food options were very limited. The houseboat had day boarders so lunch time was crowded without any feeling of premium service. Only when the day boarders vacated at 5 PM , situation became nice.

The lunch on cruise was very good. Staff were accommodating. Pooja was very smart and knows how to mange guests. The other staff also tried their best.

There's a large cockroach in our room. The furniture were worn out a lot. The wooden back panel head board of our room was dusty with thick dirt around edges which hadn't been cleaned for days. The breakfast and dinner were bland but I don't mind it that much coming from UK, but locals may not like them with Indian taste buds for rich aromatic cuisine.

Everything. Dirty. Small room. Awful shower, toilet etc. Advertised as seeing backwaters but told boat too big and taken to stop off and told we could pay for small boat to go down backwaters. Didn’t stay overnight but left and checked into hotel.

The room was fairly comfortable and clean. Bed was a bit hard. Staff were nice and obliging

Food wasn’t very warm. Food was very spicy not really to my taste.

Great people, lovely food. Our boat was a bit run down, smell in the toilet was quite strong, and the boat, unfortunately was run down. The bed was very hard, not the most comfortable, sheets were clean. The people working on board they were very nice, the boat was tired.

I had gone through many reviews before ending up on Venice Premium Houseboats for a one day stay with my family of 6 members. Unfortunately, none of those reviews didn’t help much in making my decision. From my experience, it turned out that the best option is to choose a houseboat for a day cruise, and a hotel or resort for the night stay. 1- This is going to be cheaper, as the houseboats with overnight stays are very expensive. 2- Staying in a cramped room without any activities for nearly 20-22 hours is really boring. 3- Facilities at most hotels are far better than those of the best houseboats. 4- During the day time, you’ll hardly spend any time inside your room, especially if it’s with a night time running A/C, as is the most case. You may better enjoy the views in the upper deck which’s air conditioned. That being said, now I feel that booking two rooms for 16K was utterly an unwise decision from my part. During daytime, it was extremely difficult to manage without air condition at a very humid climate. By evening, we were all exhausted and just wanted to get out from the boat.

Two rooms at 16K was not at all value for money deal. Accessibility: Very difficult pass way of nearly 500 meters to reach the point. Private Parking is available at a pay of 150 rupees. Rooms: very cramped. Hot & humid during day time. Without even the basic amenities like a wardrobe. They should have provided at least a hanger. Food: Extremely poor. Only lunch kept a minimum standard. Breakfast was with very minimal spread. Only idlis and bread. Nothing else. Not even vada. Staff: Good.

Great service, good food. Comfortable bed and room. The cruise on the lake was nice. AC in the common room and in our room at night only. Small boat ride through a village canal extra.

Slight smell in the bathroom with a mothball in the sink to cover it. The boat seems old, but generally well cared for.

The staff is nice. The ride was nice.

Cuffed, old, smelly. There was a mouse on board.
