Lovely family! I was so happy and felt so good to share my days with them. The way to arrive is a little hard, I guess it’s better with good weather. But the cabins are nice and comfortable.

"I will come back"

9.0

The free breakfast was so good and healthy , the location for a nature lover and away from city is soo good. The family were very accommodating from pick up by the Owner himself where the grab can drop us because its raining and the send off by the father were all safe . First time in Sapa- I choose the country side and it was great with all the family taking care of us as we did not came and expected the route to be not easy that time. But the way the Owner provided us a late lunch, dinner and breakfast were all superb and We will come back again with my children- by Gods grace

actually if you are flexible and love the simple life - nothing that you will not like (", the scenery, the weather, the serene and away from city is just the way I like it

In one word, just wow! Pe and his family are amazing people with a very good heart. We felt like part of the family and it was an absolutely amazing experience. If you want to experience a real homestay and not some commercial place for tourists, we recommend recommend recommend! Thank you very much again and we would love to visit you again someday ❤️

"Charming homestay"

9.0

Quiet, peaceful and charming place with very kind hosts.

Location is a minus if it is rainy day. You will need to walk around 20 minutes until the closest spot for a taxi.

Pe and his family were so incredibly welcoming and giving. Breakfast was a delicious rice pancake, bananas and honey. Dinner and lunch are a small additional charge. They were so accommodating as I'm vegan, and provided a beautiful spread of food that we got to each with the whole family. It consisted of rice from their paddys, veggies from their garden, and tofu. The google maps pin is spot on, but it is a crazy road to get there. Definitely do not drive a bike unless you are 100% confident in your abilities. Taxis in town will not take you the full way due to the small roads, and will most likely get lost. It's best to ask Pe to arrange a taxi for you. There are some lovely walks around the area, but equally it's so peaceful and tranquil so perfect if you want to have some quiet time staring at the rice paddys, or around the fire. A change from the manic cities and to be able to get an insight into their amazing culture. Thank you Pe!

Just and fyi there are 2 shared bathrooms (unless you're in the big deluxe bungalow I believe), and there is no WiFi, but 4g worked fine :)

"Genuine Hmong homestay for a peaceful getaway from busy Sapa"

10.0

TLDR: I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you so much to Pe and his wonderful family. I came as a solo traveller and felt welcomed into the family straight away. They shared tasty, healthy meals with us that were varied each day, and tailored to me as a vegetarian which I really appreciated. Pancakes, aubergine, tofu, rice wine “happy water”…they always made sure I was well fed with genuine hospitality. Pe is an innovator - he came up with the idea of a homestay and started building it himself as a way to support his family. There are beautiful views of the rice field, a fire pit, showers, friendly dogs - what more convincing do you need?? There is still work to be done on the property so expect it to change a little each visit e.g. when I stayed he was making stairs so the path is easier. He is hardworking yet humble and positive - this was a refreshing environment for me to experience that has helped me realise how I should approach challenge in my own life. It’s worth noting when I stayed there was no WiFi but I’m not sure if this is always the case! It helped me embrace the rural experience and I really enjoyed trekking with his family whilst teaching them English words. He is very keen to get volunteers to teach English so if you are TEFL trained please please visit! :) Taxis don’t always know the way so you can ring Pe if they get confused and get him to clarify the address :)

"Fantastic homestay experience near Sapa"

9.0

Pe's homestay is a perfect place to explore Sapa and the surrounding area. It is remote but that means you are right on the trails and paths of the area. Pe and his brother are trained guides so he took us out for the day's trekking, which was fun as well as beautiful (the price is 400k each). He was also very helpful at booking us taxis into Sapa when we needed it. We stayed in the deluxe bungalow which has its own veranda and a lovely view of the valley. It also has its own bathroom and some more space than the other rooms. Pe provides pancakes for breakfast as well as dinner if you'd like it (the price is 125k each for dinner), served family style with his family and other travellers. Dinner is delicious and there's lots of it. Pe's family and his dog are all very welcoming, and it was one of our favourite stays in our Vietnam trip so far to spend a few days in the mountains with them!

The homestay is very remote and down a very steep road so the taxi ride can feel a bit scary! It's doable and Pe was very helpful booking the taxis and collecting us from where the taxi dropped us off near his place but it's worth being aware. A one-way taxi to/from Sapa costs 200k. Pe and his family have built all of the accommodation themselves and have only been running the homestay for 6 months which is a huge achievement but it does mean the finish is still a little rustic and unfinished in places - eg we didn't have hot water in our private bathroom so still needed to use the shared bathroom to shower. Overall those small things didn't detract from our wonderful stay and we'd highly recommend it, especially for the price and the benefit of a true homestay!
