Morris Ranch

We loved our two nights at Morris Ranch. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful — exactly what you want in the Texas Hill Country. Great location for day trips to Fredericksburg, Bandera, and the wineries. Comfortable, clean, and full of character.

The house was located a few miles from town. Easy to find. Surrounded by the beautiful Texas countryside. Able to watch white-tail deer, numerous birds, and a fox during our stay. The house does have a grill for outdoor cooking, but we did not use it. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils and items for cooking family dinner. Excellent stay.

Quaint farmhouse with plenty of wildlife. Had eveeything needed for a pleasant stay. Would book again.

Spiders in one of the bedrooms. Just needs a good spraying down. The school house was locked during hours postes to be open. That was a bummer.

The privacy. We never saw anyone else, even when we tried to see the old school. The kitchen was very well furnished. Lots of coffee pods. Since we like to cook our own breakfast it was good to have the equipment we needed. Also nice was having 2 suitcase racks. That's unusual, even for hotels.

Some things needed fixing - the TP holder, towel rack. TV remote didn't work - it was for a different TV, but the Roku worked. Sidewalk is difficult to walk on, you need to carry your suitcase. The area around the house could use mowing and some sprucing up.

The serene area that the home is located in makes for a pleasant stay. No traffic, but lots of turkey and cows to see on the adjoining property. The school house is breath taking. We will be back to visit again. Lots of extra linens and supplies.

More lighting on the walkway to the house would be helpful.

We loved the quiet location and beautiful setting. Enjoyed relaxing under the covered outdoor seating and even saw some deer one morning. Not too far out of town, but far enough to feel like you’ve gotten away.

The site had mentioned a washer was available, but it was only in a separate building. There was only a small couch for comfortable seating when watching TV.

Great stay at the Morris Ranch. House was comfortable and well equipped. Two bedrooms and bath upstairs and a large bedroom downstairs and bathroom. Nice kitchen along with a washer/dryer. This unique property also has a historic schoolhouse built in the 1800's. I really enjoyed learning about the history of the Morris Ranch. This property is on a country road outside Fredericksburg. Got to see wildlife on the drive including deer and wild turkeys. Also had a few great Texas hill country sunsets.

Stairs to upper level are a little steep. Wasn't a problem for my stay but might be a concern for someone less agile.
