Rapopo Plantation Resort

It is a delightful holiday place right on the beach and they were all super kind to me as staff. They even gave me an unsolicited, free upgrade to a super bungalow right on the beach. The food options were excellent with very nicely cooked lobster, stone grill steaks, and tremendous breakfasts every morning. The following staff members were more than attentive and helpful to me through my stay: Aidah (who welcomed me with a drink while I waited to check in and was always greeting and checking on me), Sharlyne (who always sang my name sweetly every time she saw me), and many others who served as waitresses or cleaners and in other capacities: Carmel, Silla, Julie, Nassain, Madlyn, Salvie, Marisha and Vanessa (who was so thoughtful and attentive to detail as she serviced my bungalow daily). Leonard from the Niugini Dive shop gave us a great trip to snorkel with dolphins and viewing the Japanese Zero plane wreck.

As I was here to work as well as to relax it was important for me to have good WiFi. I encouraged the head staff to allow unlimited access and devices (the norm for four star resorts and hotels). If this is important to you … ask if they have gone ahead and upgraded this service so WiFi is available the way you need it. This was unfortunately the ONLY reason why I could not give full marks/stars for this visit. Other than this, my experience was marvellous.

A continuously flushing toilet

The staff made the experience a great one. The location was perfect, amazing views and very relaxing environment. Staff were prompt made sure all our needs were met. From reception, to house keeping, kitchen waiters, security, bus drivers and all just 10 out of 10. I highly recommend I will definitely be back. Actually already reserving a room for next year after I write this review 🤭😂

The location, having the beach and calm waters close by and the dining deck over the waterfront was great. The pool was very well kept. The chilli mud crab was excellent. Staff were friendly. The breakfast bread was good.

The fan did not work in our room. We asked to move after 3 nights. The breakfasts were not something to look forward to, coffee was bad, only cornflakes, often no fruit or avocado on the table, often no plates. Had to ask for tea bags. Very disappointed. Tours over priced. It was difficult to relax at the beach and pool some evenings as day visitors especially children very noisy. Rules about swimwear at pool not adhered to.

The views from the hotel location are superb. The hotel is very well kept and staff are extremely professional. I had the massage and it was excellent. We did use the pool which was wonderful. Most of all, our room had a view of the pool, ocean and the volcanoes which was incredible! This was definitely giving 4-5 star experience in Papua New Guinea, which is extremely hard to come by.
