Excellent location that is 1 minute walk to the nearest chair lift and ticket office. Room was clean, simple and functional but everything we needed! Staff were awesome in going out of their way to make our stay and ski holiday enjoyable and comfortable. Special shout-out to Tomonek (apologies if I have misspelled your name), Don and Maurice! Will plan to visit again!

Minor matter but to consider installing a latch on the room door for peace of mind while sleeping at night.

My stay was exceptional from start to finish. The property was immaculate and well-maintained, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The room was comfortable and equipped with all the essentials for a relaxing experience. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise - fresh, tasty, and with a good variety to start the day right. The location was ideal, just a short distance from the ski slopes, making it incredibly convenient for skiing enthusiasts. After a day on the slopes, returning to such a peaceful and comfortable setting was a real pleasure. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations and ensure everything went smoothly. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great service. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

A hardware won’t be great without the software within. For the property, the team was led by a great leader, with him a great crew. John made our first time in Hakuba so enjoyable. He made himself personally responsible when issues came up, and resolved them very professionally. He made it a point to keep us updated about the weather because we rented a 2-wheel drive (we didn’t have a choice, there were no 4WD left for rent anywhere) and whether we’d be able to get up the slope to the lodge. We know it’s imperative to get a 4WD in winter. We’d also like to shout out to Masa, who was always ready to help us make calls to Japanese establishments and assisted us with some other car troubles too when it’s stuck in the snow. That was when he called for help and the entire crew came out from their rest and collectively solved the situation together. The whole crew was so pleasant to speak with and made this trip a memorable one for us. And to Don, fantastic cooking! There were so many occasions that the crew stepped up to make our trip awesome, apologies for not able to remember everyone’s name. The properly location is right in front of Tsugaike chair lift which is super convenient and was practically a ski-in ski-out lodge.

Nothing I can remember, just remember to rent 4wd if anyone going there.

Need four wheel car to drive to the hotel during snow

We can highly recommend staying at Arise Hakuba Lodge for your time in the snow. From the moment we booked, John has been extremely helpful. My tons of questions were answered in a timely manner before we arrived, our pick up from Nagano Station was seamless and John could not do enough for us throughout our stay as navigating the snow is not easy. The lodge itself is warm, friendly, clean and has everything you need. It’s in a great spot being right next to a lift and easy to access ticket office, rental places and numerous bars and restaurants. Breakfast is great too. All in all we loved our time at Arise Hakuba Lodge. Thanks John & Staff
