Beachfront Hammock Heaven

Loved our time here... the apartment has everything you could possibly need and want, super comfortable bed and great kitchen and balcony 😍 host is wonderful. Didn't want to leave! Would definitely get a hire car next time as a bit remote from shops etc. Misael the massage therapist is an angel highly recommend, his card is on the fridge. Great value and I will miss waking up to the sound of waves. Thank you Joan

Excellant location for snorkelling. Met a great couple from Tulsa that had a wealth of information about the area and the property. They made the vacation for us. A/C worked well. All appliances in working order. Good communication with owner. Purified water available. Felt very safe on property.

The unit was cluttered with storage for the owners belongings. Pillows smelled very musty and needed changing. Very difficult time getting fresh towels. They are not provided every few days like other rentals we have been to in the past. Not enough chairs and palapas on the beach so be prepared to get up early and place your towel down. People do not abide by signs designating HammockHeavens chairs and palapa so be prepared to be up at dawn. Sewer smell in toilet area. Unit flooded during rain storm and that got the owners attention. It was then that the run around on where to find towels stopped and we were finally given towels. We stayed here 11 nights and didn't think it unreasonable to want fresh ones. .

In a calm and quiet area with its private beach which makes it really enjoyable. Very Mexican athmosphere you have everything what you need in the house to feel like home. Joan was very helpful, even let us stay and check out later as our plane was leaving later in the afternoon.

The inconsistency of power was interesting, but did not take away from the property or stay. It was weather related and added to the experience.

Perfect location, amazing view, fantastic beach, kitchen had everything we needed for a 4 day stay for 2 people. Bed is sooo comfortable! Front porch and back patio were great places to hang out. There are beach lounge chairs on the beach. Nice pool in front of the ocean. Owner has a book in the condo with detailed recommendations. To enjoy the fish swimming near the beach, bring water shoes and a snorkel set.

Aventuras Akumal is accessible for people like us who do not have a car and use public transportation. However the owner was not familiar with the public transportation options. We were able to figure things out by ourselves. We needed to get to Akumal from Cancún and we needed to stop for groceries on the way there. We figured it out in the end and had no issues. Take ADO bus to Playa, get groceries there, and then take either colectivo or taxi from Playa to Aventuras Akumal. If colectiva, ask to be dropped off at the puente peatonal so you may cross safely. From the puente, walk across the highway on the pedestrian footbridge and follow backwards to Aventuras Akumal. Condo is in the building at the end of road.
