Beachfront Hammock Heaven

Bohemian, authentic experience practically in the waves. The antithesis (and antidote to Cancun) We loved it and talk about it still - forget about 5-stars, this is the real (and increasingly rare) deal. Catch it while you can. Joan is a great, unobtrusive host but responsive when you need her.

View was very nice!

we have slept 3 powers at this place. it is a great accommodation, everything you need is there and the view is special. seeing turtles laying eggs in the evening is very beautiful. the only minus point we have experienced is that we were misled by indicated facilities. There would be a gym and all kinds of other facilities. when we arrived Joan said via the WhatsApp that it was actually the facilities of the hotel next door and we can use them without a problem. once we got there, we were caught by security as burglars and sent outside. it was very bad to have to deal with something like that. I did a challenge where I had to train daily but because of this lie from Joan that was not possible there. I had to incur a lot of costs for 3 days in that high temperature to go to Tulum by taxi from there to train. that was not only that, I had paid an expensive accommodation to enjoy it there, but every day I spent three hours going up and down and also a lot of money for gym and the taxi. The security of the hotel was so surprised that Joan dared to tell such a lie to her guests. I think she should have compensated for this by reimbursing my expenses, but she didn't!!!

An amazing place with a wonderful host, Joan is exceptional.

The private balcony was AMAZING. we felt very safe in and around the condos. Snorkeling was great right outside our room. 

The music from the “party pool” at the adjoining resort for most of the day and some evening events distracted from peace and quiet. BUT…we would STILL go back because everything else was so wonderful.

The location was utterly dreamy - falling asleep to the sound of waves and the Caribbean breeze rustling in the coconut fronds, and being awakened by jungle birdsong was a much-needed tonic after our travels around Mexico. The view was to die for. Joan was an unobtrusive-yet-on-standby host. Super accommodating and charming. Highly recommend!!

the shower...water ran very slow was the only issue....but the view, beach more than compensated for that.

the studio is thoughtfully appointed, the terrace is beautiful (and private) with a lovely view of the beach and a hammock that is hard to leave if it weren’t for the water calling. the beach is quiet (away from the masses at akumal beach), the snorkeling is good with easy access. it was so nice to have a private palapa always available ( we did not have to run down and reserve one) And Joan is an excellent host.

the only thing i would change … is the bed was extremely firm.. a little hard on my hips. and it is definitely good to have a car, unless you just want to stay put (which we did so it was perfect for us.)

we loved the location and views. the private palapas were fantastic and the little (and big) touches of art were so delightful! the condo had everything we needed and more.

the bathroom and kitchen faucets had pressure issues and made squealing sounds unless turned on and off several times. the door and security buttons stuck and made it difficult to get the door open on several occasions.

"Joan" The host was very nice and took care of all our needs. Location was great. Ocean front, beautiful view. The studio was small but we were aware of the size of the unit when we booked it. Small kitchen but well equipped. Range top, toaster oven, Microwave, all the dishes and utensils that you need. No negative surprise's.

Amazing location right on the beach. Lots of amenities that we needed with a baby - microwave, kettle, etc. Having the sound of the waves all the time was amazing. The place really felt like home and we didn’t want to leave.
