"Wonderful stay."

10.0

The location was fantastic! While it’s in a busy part of the city, we didn’t find the noise to be an issue and slept comfortably. Everything we needed was within walking distance, and the property had all the amenities we could ask for. The shower pressure was excellent, and the view was absolutely stunning. Katie and Annabelle were a pleasure to communicate with—friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

As I mentioned, this didn’t bother us, but if you’re unfamiliar with the city, it’s important to know that this is a very popular area with restaurants and bars below. The accommodation has good noise proofing, but it might not be ideal for light sleepers.

We had a debate with our host around key handover. They requested short term to register in a new app but that did not work for us. So we started a chat debate if and how we can meet….after reminding that we payed already the full price it was ok…this was avoidable…

The location was great

The room looked nice from afar but it needs a bit of work. For example, the front door was really sticky and made it hard to open, as though it had been painted too many times. Another example was the stain on the couch. Nothing was outrageously broken, but there were things that made me question the price tag of the apartment.

"A Convenient but Noisy Place to Stay"

6.0

Central location facing onto part of the Viaduct entertainment area. The apartment was on the first floor with a balcony directly over one bar and overlooking two others. Access to the Viaduct hospitality area and harbour are easy and only a moment or two's walk away.

The check-in procedures were not as advertised. There is no meet and greet between 3pm and 6pm as stated. Instead, information is sent by text or email, with instructions about how to locate a lock box for key access and details of which apartment has been allocated. Whilst the property manager was able to be contacted by phone, I booked this property so that I could deal with real people at a reception desk (yes, I am old fashioned!). At least one other group was having trouble getting into their unit when we arrived. Anyone booking this location needs to be aware that it is VERY noisy due to the bars in the immediate vicinity. On Friday night the noise continued well after midnight and eventually quietened down about 2.30am. If you value your sleep, this isn't the place for you. Also, the door to the apartment we were allocated was incredibly stiff to open and didn't close itself without being forcibly shoved. Women and children might find it very difficult to open unless they put their shoulder into it. The property manager also required that I text evidence of identity in the form of a copy of a passport, driver's licence or other accepted document. Given that I am clearly a New Zealand citizen, the accommodation was booked through Booking.com, which I have been a member of for over 10 years, and that my credit card details were already held for the booking, I consider this to be an unnecessary breach of privacy. It is not a legal requirement for accommodation providers to obtain identification of guests in this country, so I don't know why it was being done. Had the reception been manned as suggested when I booked, I would have happily shown my ID but to send it to an unknown person I have an issue with.
