Boutique Viaduct Hideaway

Good location

Trying to get the keys. No one to greet us and yet arrived at the meet and greet time. No one answered phone at first. The door to apartment was faulty and had to literally kick it to get the food open after turning the key.

Fantastic location, great view and really good sized room with good amenities. Loved the balcony and the bathroom was really nice with the bath and the shower pressure was amazing.

Room did need some mantainence, cupboard hinges were broken and hard to open, and paint is damaged around the room in places. Couch and mat was quite stained aswell. Didn't have a blind or sheer curtains for privacy which was annoying as everyone could see straight in from the viaduct. Only 2 small towels provided for a 2 night stay. Wifi was in and out and needed attending to. Little details that if attended to would make this room 5 star. Unfortunately what really ruined it for us was we were charged nearly $100 cleaning fee at the end of our stay. We left the room in a very reasonable state, did our dishes, emptied bins, towels in a pile etc but didn't realize we were expected to fully groom the room ( maybe vacuum, wipe surfaces, scrub the bathroom maybe????) and when I questioned this the host didn't bother to reply. We felt this was almost a scam as have never ever had this issue in another hotel before. Hosts need to state their expectations CLEARLY in the room. Very disappointing.

Location, great space, shower was very good pressure.

We didn’t mind the noise outside but some would, so just be sure you’re not sensitive to city noise as it’s in the thick of the party zone. The property managers were super quick to respond and will get the air conditioner working, as most would want this working as you’d want to shut the balcony doors while sleeping.

We were asked for a $350 bond the day before we arrived. This was a surprise and not a pleasant one. If this was written in the blurb it must have been very small print! This could have easily impacted on our holiday with the extra expense. This needs to be told to guests before you book not the day before you get there!
