Treetops ella

Treetops Ella was the most amazing accommodation that we have stayed in all of Sri Lanka. The location was stunning - the pictures speak for themselves. We did not want to stay in the centre of Ella and thoroughly enjoyed the scenic walk whenever we decided to go (also great exercise!). Every detail of the place had been well thought out - from the well stocked fridge to the handy night light. They even provided a mini speaker! The bed was very comfortable and the mosquito net, along with the citronella oil, made us feel protected. The breakfast was absolutely delicious - best roti we have ever tried, alongside the dhal and coconut chutney. The fruits were so lovingly prepared and such a great variety. It felt like we were in paradise. What made our stay even more special were the people. Chathu and her husband, Lassa, were so kind and accommodating. They were warm and understanding hosts. Chathu was always there when we needed. She even managed to remove what I thought were permanent stains from my white tops! We came to Sri Lanka for a break from a very difficult time, and I was humbled to be able to share my experience with Chathu, who listened without judgement and made me feel comforted. She was more than a host to me, she is a friend. We would not hesitate to book here again and would love to return in the future. Thank you, both, for your hospitality, understanding and support. You are amazing people and I wish you all the best for the future.

spectacularly nice and welcoming hosts, breakfast exceeds expectations, a bit out of town, top value for money

We loved our stay. This is a brilliant homestay with just one room with a separate gate , patio, and garden but at the same time attached to the main house. This way, you enjoy full privacy, and at the same time, Lassa and his wife are always a few steps away. The room is sparkling clean, the WiFi fast, the shower hot, the jungle view relaxing. The breakfast is abundant, varied, and yummy. We ended up having dinner at our patio cooked by the family, and I am still raving for their rice and curry. Dinner was also very reasonably priced. The location is excellent as it is tucked away from busy Ella but close to 9 Arches and Adam's Peak through a safe and picturesque jungle path. Oh, and there was a mini bar with drinks free of charge and a bottle of water with every meal. Can't recommend enough!

Just a recommendation, a clothes rack with a few hangers could be added. Also, if you want to be in the noise, hustle and bustle of Ella, this place is not for you. Otherwise, the family can organise a tuk tuk at a good price and you are there in 10 min.

Location is perfect, wonderful views and nature sounds. The owners are súper nice and helpful. Delicious breakfast.

The best place I've stayed. Lovely family, friendly people always there to help you. They arranged tuk tuks for me, always offering tea/coffee. The room is big, clean and bed so comfy. Bathroom is huge, good shower and has hot water. Amazing views from the room, little private garden with hammock to chill in the daytime. WiFi really good and breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in Sri Lanka. Fridge provided in the room which has soft drinks and waters and cold glasses. Everything was amazing. 5 stars. If I ever come back to Sri Lanka I will come back to this property. It was so good I extended my stay as soon as I arrived.

Tree Tops is located off the main road in a beautiful green paradise, yet is very close to sights like Little Adams Peak and the Nine Arch Bridge. There is only one guest room and it’s attached to the side of the owners home through a private gate. The outdoor seating area is huge with a great view. The owners were so kind and helpful with tips for local sites, and the breakfast was the best! We ate so much we didn’t have to eat lunch! It was like having our own private sanctuary.

This is a fantastic property - clean, comfortable and spacious. The hosts are exceptional- clearly care very much about making their guests comfortable. The breakfast was huge and very tasty. I had a wonderful stay.

It’s off the beaten track but easy to get a tuk-tuk or even walk into town.

Everything was perfect! The hosts were very nice, it was our best accommodation in Sri Lanka. The food was amazing and the hosts arranged a tuktuk and taxi for us. I would highly recommend going to treetops!

I cannot find words to say how much we liked this stay! Our room was with private entrance and little garden. Atmosphere was so calming and relaxing, you can feel that you are almost alone in the middle of the jungle. We ordered dinner and it was the best dinner we ate here in Sri Lanka! The girl who welcomed us was very kind and helpful, she arranged tuctuc for us and everything we needed. Room was full equiped, they even have mini bar with soft drinks and firs aid box. If you have chance to stay here, do not think more and stay at Treetops Ella as more days as you can! ❤️

This stay was just a 10 out of 10! From the moment we booked the host was reaching out via WhatsApp and making sure we had all the information for a safe journey there. We were greeted warm and welcoming and the room was just amazing. They welcomed us into their home, showed us how to cook authentic Sri Lankan dinner and arranged for transportation when needed. On the morning hike to little Adam’s Peak the host took us with his Tuk Tuk because he was on the way anyhow - just amazing! If we ever come back to Sri Lanka we will make sure to come back here for sure!
