Treetops ella

A magical place in the middle of nature, just outside of Ella. The room is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped and includes a wonderful private terrace. The hosts are very attentive and communicative, and serve an incredibly great breakfast. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, but we would be happy to come back anytime.

Just for your information, it is located a bit outside of Ella, but can be reached easily and cheaply by tuk tuk.

A wonderful address ! Hosts are so kind and do all they can to make your stay memorable. The room with a view on the jungle is very comfortable, even provided with a fridge full of soft drinks and water for free. The breakfast is exceptional. One of the very best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. I recommend it!!

We can’t even begin to explain how amazing this little gem is. The room is located on the side of the owners house so you are the only guests and they look after you so well. You get your own little slice of paradise in the jungle. The room is spotless and the bed is so comfy, they have literally thought of everything. They have uno cards, first aid kit, a torch for at night, a mini speaker, hair dryer. The fridge is filled with drinks that are free of charge. The hosts gave you your privacy but were always there when needed. Every time we set off into town she’d see us off or welcome us back in with an offer of tea and coffee. She even came out with an umbrella so we didn’t get wet when it was raining on our return one night! She even gave us insect repellant! The breakfast was amazing, the fruit was so fresh and the lentil Dahl was incredible. Each day it was different and we got to try more of the Sri Lankan cuisine. We genuinely can’t put into words how perfect our stay was and want to thank you both so much for making our trip!

Absolutely amazing stay at Treetops Ella! We stayed there for 4 nights - amazing and calm place as you not only will be the only guests but also having a beautiful nature, fantastic service and breakfast as well as lovely hosts by your side. We loved our stay with the kindest hosts! Expect a private entrance, a terrace overlooking nature only, a comfortable bed and an extensive delicious breakfast. We would stay here again. The hosts are so welcoming, it was hard to leave!! It’s 8 min out of town, very quiet and perfectly accessible by tuktuk (host helps you arrange whenever you need) and scooter. Ella is quite easy to rent a scooter, which will give you all flexibility.

From the moment we arrived at Treetops Ella, nestled in the lush outskirts of Ella, it was evident that we had stumbled upon a unique sanctuary. Managed by the wonderfully kind-hearted Chathu and Lasa, this homestay isn't just a place to rest; it's a home where warmth and hospitality know no bounds. The property boasts a beautifully appointed single room that perfectly encapsulates comfort and serenity. Every detail, from the comfortable bed adorned with a cozy duvet to the ample plug sockets, is thoughtfully placed to ensure guests' needs are not just met but exceeded. The room opens up to a quaint little veranda, which became our favorite spot. Sitting there, we were treated to delicious home-cooked meals, a testament to the culinary skills and effort the family puts into making guests feel welcomed and cherished. But Treetops Ella is more than its tangible comforts. It's the intangible—a feeling of peace that envelopes you as you're surrounded by a symphony of bird calls and the sight of a meticulously cared-for garden blooming with vibrant flowers. It's a retreat for the soul, a place where you can truly disconnect and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the jungle/countryside. The kindness and generosity of Chathu, Lasa, and their family are what truly set Treetops Ella apart. Their genuine care and effort to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect was deeply touching. It’s rare to find such heartfelt hospitality, and it made our experience not just a stay but a journey into the warmth of human kindness. Our departure from Treetops Ella was bittersweet. As we said our goodbyes, we carried with us memories of a place that felt like a home away from home, promising ourselves to return. To Chathu, Lasa, and the family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your homestay is a haven of peace, your hospitality a beacon of warmth. We eagerly look forward to the day we can return to this fantastic and enriching experience.

Sometimes the WiFi dropped out around 20:30 for an hour, but otherwise it was good.

Fantastic breakfast, beautiful view and terrace, very nice hosts, comfortable bed, nice bathroom.

Difficult to access by car and tuktuk, WiFi often didn’t work.

Everything was perfect, the breakfast and a dinner was amazing, the room was comfortable and clean. Still, the most special was Priyanrjith and her husband, they are so kind and hospitable, it was a wonderful stay,thank you❤️
