Was a squeeze for 2 people and 2 big suitcases.

The room was very small, no room for luggage two people would struggle to fit and move around. Kitchen utensil, 2 wooden forks, takeaway chopsticks, 1 knife and 2 small bowls, plus 2 pans. Never saw a staff member nor did I get a reply to email requesting where to get plastic bin bags. The room was reasonably clean but entrance, landing and stairs filthy and not cleaned once during my 2 week stay. I have stayed in cheaper accomodation in better areas that provided so much more.

Pros: It was a cheap place to stay & in that regard it did the job. It was comfortable and convenient enough. Location isn't the best but it's close to many bus lines (a bit far from the metro). CONS: The manager, Jane, threatened to call the police if I didn’t pay for the repair of the toilet after it clogged the FIRST time I used it. Even if I had thrown toilet paper in (& I use a normal amount), a toilet clogging is clearly the result of an accumulation of toilet paper. They switched my room & in that room the toilet ran & the toilet handle didn’t flush properly - & Jane claimed that I deliberately broke the toilet handle! I am a normal person. I have never broken a toilet handle in my life. I was even trying to be polite to Jane while this drama was going down. The reality is that this hotel is cheap & run down, with peeling paint, stains around the floor of the toilet, the AC dripped onto my bed, etc.

Edit to respond to the manager's claims: Jane's story is false (& I have the texts to prove it). I asked for an upgrade for the hassle of changing rooms when my toilet clogged. At first, she told me "yes yes" but later says that's impossible. So I ask for an additional night & she says yes - but only if I cancel my payment on Booking and pay them in cash. I thought that was really suspicious. I don't want to do something off of the official Booking website. I didn't respond. Then I moved rooms & the new toilet is running. At this point, I'm majorly regretting picking such a cheap place because the building clearly needs maintenance. I requested a refund for my remaining nights. She said it's not possible & offers me a payment change for a free night & a food delivery. Since this is my second issue, I ask for an additional night. To me, this seems fair because I'd honestly rather move hotels at this point than keep dealing with small issues. I thought they'll just refund my credit card or extend my stay. Instead, she again says again that I need to cancel my stay on Booking. We go back and forth about cash vs. using official website. She sends a handyman ("inspector") to fix the toilet. He fixed it in less than two minutes. I think the toilet handle was loose. She starts texting me saying I deliberately broke the toilet (completely untrue!) I brought up my surgery only to say that this issue needs to be resolved soon because I had an upcoming surgery.
