Hirafu Tomten

Near enough to hirafu and slopes yet enjoying the peaceful quietness of winter Beds are very comfortable and shower is good

Need more hooks in the toilet or around the room to hang towels Pillows are tiny

I did not use the breakfast provided but it looked good for those taking it

The walls are a little thin as the guests in the room next door to mine were noisy until late on the first night. However for the majority of the stay the other room guests were considerate and the noise was not a problem

Free complimentary breakfast, the room is really clean and I love the duvet, so comfortable!!

The stay didn't provide tooth brush and tooth paste and my friends happened to forget bringing theirs. So we had to take a long walk back in the town and get the necessities. There could be more racks in the toilet so we can hang our clothes/towel while showering.

Great staff, comfortable relaxed atmosphere, very clean and with a great ski and gear storage room. Morning shuttle included to skiing area, shuttle buses back included in lift pass. Easy 15 min walk into main part of town.

The accommodation is located outside of Hirafu but only takes about 20 minutes to walk into town. The room was nice and warm but slightly small for two people with luggage. There is a special area on the ground floor with secure giant drying closets where you can place your snow gear (boards, boots, etc). The closet is assigned to your room and requires your hotel key card in order to access it. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive to either Annupuri Village or Niseko Village, which is very convenient if you want to ski/snowboard at both resorts. There are only a few spots in front for parking, but it looks like they also provide a shuttle to Annupuri and Niseko if you decide not to rent a car.

As mentioned, the walk into town is very easy but exercise caution during times of heavy snowfall as sometimes the sidewalk has not been cleared for foot traffic. I would recommend walking if you can, however, because Hirafu gets ridiculously crowded with cars and people and there is practically nowhere to park. As for the hotel itself, even though quiet time starts at 9 pm you can still hear people in their rooms just moving around and talking at a normal level, so bring earplugs if you want to get a good night's sleep before hitting the slopes!
