Absolutely beautiful panoramic view of river and city. Apt located in University area making walking tour very easy and close by. Wonderful bar and restaurants within 10 minute walk from apt. Hosts were extremely helpful with info and suggestions.

No AC: but breezes along with fan in room kept temps delightful! Terrace experience was one of the best ever!

Everything was divine - we felt like bohemian royalty w/ the kindness and privacy that we so cherish. Ana was a consumate host - beyond helpful, and treated like guests whom she may have already know. Coimbra is a gem and Alto Canto is also an exceptional gem. Breakfasts by Joanna & Ana were intimate and relaxed - the bread of Portugal needs its own flag. Thank you so much Ana & Alto Canto! We will be back, Dr. Farrel Gabrielle Duncan

The building is old - which we loved - so if there is any issue w/ a fussy toilet etc., just tell the staff.

The place is in an old building that is refurbished. The room was so nice, very clean, spacious, and quiet. The location was also perfect as it was a few blocks from the coimbra university and from the main places to visit. Ana, the host, was great! very nice and on top of all of the details!!

Stunningly beautiful bedroom and huge living room looking over the river. Part of a lovely old home. Breakfast was lovely and Ana extremely helpful with everything. We loved the Faro performance just down the road which Ana suggested we might like to attend.

The room was remarkable and you're staying in a historic building with a spectacular view from your room. Bed was comfortable.

After reading recent reviews of Alto Canto, we were expecting a more substantial breakfast.

There is not a single thing I don’t like about this amazing place. Ana is the best host that you may dream of having. Wonderful breakfasts, in love with the coffee. Super clean place, full of beautiful details. I stay in the second floor, to my surprise, like a space from a palace, only for me. Very comfy bed. Excellent location to explore the city.

The property itself was beautiful, like staying in a grand old apartment! Paid parking was easy to find right in front of the building. Loved the outdoor terrasse overlooking the river particularly as there was shade on a very hot day. Room was large and nice bathroom products. Location is very convenient and the breakfast was much appreciated and tasty.

Not sure if a regular occurrence but there was loud music with very strong bass nearby until the early hours of the morning, which meant we couldn't open windows for a breeze. A fan was provided but it was extremely hot and humid in the room making it hard to sleep between that and the noise. A top sheet on the bed would have been helpful too instead of just the duvet.
