Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf

The stay was pleasant overall — clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great location near Fisherman’s Wharf. The included breakfast was a nice perk. However, the area felt unsafe at times. We were verbally harassed by a homeless individual outside the hotel, and later saw the same person confronting other guests near the fire pits. The TV setup felt outdated with limited channels, and the bathtub could use renovation, but otherwise the room was comfortable. Good hotel staff and amenities, just be mindful of the surrounding area.

Very big hotel, with lots of people staying here but as it’s quite spread out you wouldn’t know it. At least not until breakfast which is very busy. The staff manage it well (feels like organised chaos) and the food is constantly topped up but prepare for it being busy. Great and friendly service across the board and as mentioned the location is great. Close to eateries, tourist shopping, ferry departures for Alcatraz and Sausalito, trams and the cable car.

Great size rooms, comfortable bedding, great breakfast. Blockout blinds work well in the rooms, bathrooms are functional but the shower/bath is a little outdated. Overall a fantastic experience.

Hotel in a great location. Rooms clean but bathrooms quite small. Bed comfortable, nice extra that coffee machine is provided and pods replenished. Breakfast good, however provision of other types of egg, rather than just scrambled every day, would be welcome. Bar person was good, handy to have grab and go snacks.

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf. The location was perfect for our vacation needs and did not require us to rent a car; easy walk to several points of interest. This hotel had a daily hot breakfast buffet with a wide range of entrees which was a low stress way to start our day. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Shower pressure was also great. The pool area was nice but the water was a bit chilly for us even though it was heated. We loved sitting by the gas fireplaces at the entrance of the hotel. My only complaint was that our room on second floor was near an exit door so we could hear all the activity outside our window which was near the pool area. Overall, great value and I would stay here again.

It was my second stay at Hotel Riu on the Wharf in San Francisco — a fantastic location, of course. It’s one of the few hotels in the area with a heated swimming pool and a generous selection of healthy breakfast options. The staff were also very accommodating when I needed to adjust a recent reservation.

We frequent this hotel quite often and have found that it appears to get better each visit. This last visit was great.!!!

Hotel is in a great position walking 10min to the wharf shops and restaurants,you can see the seals alcatraz and the golden gate bridge. Hotel staff are very friendly rooms are cleaned every day if you want. Breakfast is a busy affair but well run by the staff the food is off high quality and plenty of choice. We did have issues had to move rooms because of the amount of noise from the rubbish clearance at 4-30am two mornings and noise from the room above you need good sleep when on holiday the hotel agreed and moved us also the hotel bar had a QR code to down load for drinks problem was they did not do all the drinks when asked the bar man he said must be old and walked off found that a bit rude tryed another night could not get served till the bar person had taken a bite of their sandwich and crips but all said would return positives out way the negatives
