"Love the Concept. The Cleanliness and Property Condition Requires A Professional Touch."

4.0

Cleanliness issues. I love mineral springs generally. There are general cleanliness issues at the property. This was my second visit as I travel to the area for work regularly. I had concerns about cleanliness on my initial visit. I figured I would give it a second chance. Unlikely to be a third visit. I think I am just hoping that Living Waters Spa will reopen. I am going to try some other mineral spring properties in the area.

"A Hidden Gem in the Desert – Peaceful, Private, and Perfect!"

10.0

A Hidden Gem in the Desert – Peaceful, Private, and Perfect! My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Hotel 02. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful owners, Rick and Jia, who were incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. If you needed anything they were a text away. Check in was a breeze. We received a text with all the pertinent information. main entrance & room # with digital codes along with WiFi. Easiest check in ever. The property offers a quiet and private oasis that instantly put us at ease. Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The room has a coffee maker, small fridge, shampoo & shower gel. One of the highlights was the natural spring water pool—refreshing and beautifully maintained. We also enjoyed spending time in the enormous hot tub, thoughtfully covered to protect from the midday sun. The landscaping is lush and inviting, with tall palm trees and serene rooviews that create the perfect desert retreat. The daybeds around the pool made lounging a dream—relaxing, peaceful, and even a little luxurious. They offer 3 large cabanas with couches and a projection screen for music videos and concerts. The sound system is great and the music playlist brought back great memories. Whether you’re looking to unwind and recharge, or hoping to meet kind and like-minded people, Hotel 02 is the place. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing escape in Desert Hot Springs. They also offer day passes. Invite friends and go check it out.

"Do not book here!"

2.0

This was awful, the website shown something completely different. We traveled from out of state only to walk out 5 minutes later. The pool was green, broken-down outdoor facilities. The front door had zero security, as not one was there to welcome you in. We have stayed / visited other LS friendly / clothing optional spas in the area. Go to another. Total ripped off!

"Disgusting"

2.0

The place is basically disgusting. The pictures have got to be 10 years old. The landscaping is overgrown. The pool in the picture is sparkling the real pool either has algea or cooper deposits streaking it. It surface will make your feet bleed. Sat at the door 10 min calling the number with no response. Finally knocked real hard and a guest just let us in. Fortunately we were there on a day pass only. So the hit was not too bad, but would never stay from what we saw. Great people, mostly liifestyle, but that is about it. Invest some money and clean it up.

"Our (attempted) stay at The O Spa and Resort was a complete disaster"

2.0

Our (attempted) stay at The O Spa and Resort was a complete disaster. The day before our stay, we called to request an early check-in. Rick informed us that while we couldn’t check in before 4:00 PM, we could arrive at noon and hang around the pool until our room was ready. However, when we arrived at 11:45 AM and called Rick, his response was that we were “really freaking early.” He provided the door code, and we entered the resort. While the grounds were relatively nice, there was no shaded area over the pool except for two umbrellas, both occupied by other guests. There were other shaded areas, but they were unmarked, leaving us unsure if they were rental cabanas or available for everyone’s use. With no staff on the grounds to ask and not wanting to bother Rick, who was already irritated, we decided to Uber to another resort for the day. We returned at 4 PM, still without any check-in information. After calling the number on the door, we were texted a room code but not the room number. When we finally got the room number and entered, we were horrified to find two other guests asleep on the bed. Intruding on another guest’s privacy is not our idea of a “friendly encounter,” and had they been awake, we would have been extremely apologetic. With no staff on site, we called the hotel again. The manager arrived about 10 minutes later, but instead of addressing us, we overheard him rudely trying to kick some other guests out of their room. It became clear that he was doing this to accommodate us. Deeply disturbed by what had already transpired, we confronted him, asking how many guests would have to suffer due to his lack of organization and poor people skills. His response made us feel as though we were being unappreciative of his efforts. We left and had to make emergency arrangements for the night on Labor Day weekend. Only after we left did he send an apologetic text message, claiming the people in the original room were a confused elderly woman who had been staying for a few additional days. This doesn’t add up—if he knew this to be the case, why would he give us the room code? Were we supposed to share the room with her? This guy isn’t even good at lying.

"Our First Visit - We plan to RETURN!"

10.0

This was our 1st time to visit this gem for non-textiles. Rick (owner) made from booking-to-check in a breeze. When arriving at resorts like this the last thing you want to do is hang around at check-in. Entry codes sent via text/email. Upon arrival we were greeted by Anna. Anna provided a quick tour and we were on our way. BTW the tour was helpful to highlight the resorts accommodations including their Lobby Lounge, details about the spring waters (YES!), and the pool/hot tub locations & temps. Room was spacious (White Room) with: king size bed, couch, kitchenette, efficient bathroom, & two seater patio. It was very hot (100+) and this was the place to be! We went between the different pools, shaded lounge areas, and resting in the room. 420 friendly and nude is our speed. We relaxed on the outside cabana beds and completely decompressed. The grounds are setup in a manner that provides options for privacy or engagement. The option to spice it up was there & completely optional. Rick relayed the weekend was slow, but there are only 15 rooms (plus day pass option) so we can imagine, when at capacity, it would still provide a similar experience to our weekend. We could have stayed more than our two night weekend allowed. We are already to a return visit. **Uber used for food & BYOB & 420

"O o it's magic"

10.0

This is my favorite hotel in the desert and I've stayed multiple times. I am a local and often go for the day or overnight as a retreat. Alone or with a partner, this is the most tranquil, laid back, relaxing place you can find. Felt compelled to address a few common complaints. The hand-off approach is what makes this environment so relaxing- it's difficult to unwind with employees milling about, being left alone in the evenings makes you feel like you're totally transported into another world. Communication regarding check-in has always been effective and easy, and I'm not there to watch TV or bother anyone, I'm there to soak in the marvelous waters and unplug. As for the neighborhood- well, welcome to Desert Hot Springs. The mineral water is only accessible in a particular area of town so not sure what the owners could do about the location. The town has problems with government corruption, gentrification, and poverty so guess what? You're lucky to be a guest in this town and even luckier to afford a night sequestered in a fancy resort. Can't really ask a hotel to magically move the fault lines that make the mineral water hot and up and hover to a neighborhood you find "nicer." Palm Springs might be a better place for you to stay, but there's no mineral water. Anyway, I love the O and can't wait to return. Anytime I travel elsewhere, I always regret not staying home and just going to the O. Oh and the dogs are the best part.

"DO NOT GO HERE. They will ruin your trip."

2.0

I'm writing the same review as my husband. I literally signed up for a Trip Advisor account just to put this review on. DO NOT GO HERE. That's how bad it was. I have also placed horrible reviews (all true) everywhere else that I can find. This place is a joke. Customer service is non-existent. They do not care about you. First of all, they market it as a "clothing optional spa. Not the case at all. They make you put bottoms on. Whatever that is the least of the issues. They have no staff at the facility. I saw two cleaning staff and they left shortly after we arrived. The office in the lobby was a ghost town. My wife tired to call them before we arrived and received no call back. Our friends did the same thing with the same results. They finally answered the phone or got a call back after the third attempt. The person who answered the phone had a horrible attitude and basically said "well no one answers the phone until after 3 pm". In what universe is that acceptable? So we arrive and you get a code to enter the facility as well as your room. The code for every room had the room # in it!! A 6 year old could access any room if you understand the sequence. I had to go out to my car three times and every time I found the main entrance door left ajar with the dead bolt lock sticking out so that any random person could just stroll in. I found that same door in the same condition at 8am the next morning; so I assume it was propped open the whole night. So unprofessional and highly dangerous. The neighborhood was questionable at best. The apartment in disrepair across the street (lll call it "Meth Manor") had a cast of questionable residence there which just infuriated everyone. NO REGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF THE GUESTS!!! Two of our friends were celebrating their anniversary. After sitting by the pool they went to get ready for their special dinner. They try to open their door with the code and it doesn't work. They attempt to call the "management" and after several attempts, they call back. Our friend address the problem and the person on the phone has the audacity to say "Oh, that happens a lot". With no follow up statement. As if that is acceptable service for any facility. Management finally had to get one of the cleaning staff to come back to open the door with a key but not before they had to stop and buy supplies. Needless to say they were late for their anniversary dinner and plans after. So unprofessional and disrespectful. The two barbeques on the property were death traps. Both failed while we attempted to use them. Ruined a perfectly good Tri tip. People had dogs running around / in and out of the mineral pool. So disgusting. This dump is supposed to be a "spa". To add insult overtly poor service, we found an ant invasion in our room the next morning. My wife was beside her self. Again we called the "management". They did not at all. At that point we decided to leave that dump. It wasn't until we were on the road that they got back to us. They said they would get someone there to "clean up the ants" AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. They offered to comp us for another night. We told them we would never return but a partial refund would be acceptable. Their response was crickets. I now need to go to a legitimate spa to recover form the trauma of this sad excuse for a spa. Stay as far away from this place as humanly possible. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!

"Terribly Disappointed"

2.0

A Now Open Letter to Rick Rabuck, Owner of The O Spa since you did not have the decency to respond to my email: Hi Rick, I need to follow up about what happened last Sunday evening. It was a difficult situation that I can empathize with [some of the cleaning crew called out so rooms were not ready by 3pm check-in] but the way you handled it was the most disappointing part. I did appreciate the early call that day and the offer for the late check out. That part was handled well.  However, your communication once we arrived left much to be desired. I saw other guests arriving confused and also not knowing what was going on. You were not providing any updates to anyone or coming out of your home to speak with guests. That's all you really had to do was show some hospitality and be available. I called you and you could not provide any updates and did not call me back. We waited around as best we could. We could not go in the pools because we were not offered any towels. It was windy and cold so we tried to start one of the fire rings and a heat lamp but they did not work. We then sat in the lounge but it was dark in there and we could not get most of the lights to work. There was also no toilet paper in the lounge restroom. We were as patient as we could be and even though you did not make yourself available to assist anyone, you were still quite upset about us wanting to at least put some stuff in the room and maybe sit in the living room. You offered us the option for a refund which we eventually took after 630pm having still not received any updates or a timeline of how much longer it would take. As we left we noticed the main door handle was hanging off and the door was ajar. Not safe or secure! It was only after I told you we were leaving and you were going to lose the booking that you suddenly called and had an update for me. It was too late by then. You need to put your customers first, not their money. Again, what I want to emphasize is that a little more effort, accessibility, and communication on your part would have made this situation so much better. To top it off, you did not respond to this now pubic email or issue me a refund so I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. Real classy Rick. Do everyone a favor and get out of the hospitality business. Sincerely,  Brett
