Wish the AC would have worked in the common areas.

Currently in the process of renovations, but seems like they're a decade too late. The lobby/atrium was hot and humid (had temporary cooling), tub was nasty, bar/restaurant was closed a few days. Also got charged 3 times on 2 different cards (the desk staff "couldn't get the card to work" the first time. Still charged me though). They got one of those canceled, but it's been 10 days now and i still have a pending charge on my debit card, so the bank is still holding that money. If you're going to South Bend, do yourself a favor and stay at the Courtyard by Marriott or the Aloft, both are within a couple blocks.

Overall very nice, quiet and very clean.

There were a LOT of noisy guests staying. Playing loud music and talking loud late into the night. Also the A/C was not working well outside of the rooms which made the weight room extremely hot. I don’t feel like my room got properly cleaned after the first night they just pulled the trash, left extra trash bags draped over the trash cans and dropped off a stack of towels. My bed wasn’t made it all felt lackluster. For the money, I would stay at another hotel. It’s not what I expected from a DoubleTree

The property was okay and newly renovated. The bathroom had cleaner in the toilet that looked dried up, but had not been cleaned. The beds were clean and comfortable.
