Marriott Albany

Stayed two nights at this hotel. We enjoyed drinks at the lobby bar. The bar service and drinks were excellent. My only gripe was that the restrooms were about a 100 yard walk from the lobby. The fitness room was very usable and clean. I used it twice. Our room was a larger guest room and was clean and well appointed. I didn’t like the aerator they had in the bathroom sink. It gave a wide shower like flow. I figured it must save water but it made a mess on the counter top when you wash your hands, etc. We love the location and it was reasonably priced.

It’s old and dirty everywhere

Tournament weekend so the hotel was probably not equipped for sold out service. No complimentary water in room or at check in for Bonvoy members. Takeout at the Chat restaurant took 40+ mins. Tired rooms. No ability to recommend local restaurants - “try Google”. On the plus side heavy pours at the bar ;) expect more for $400 a night. Decent fitness room with filtered water and late day there was fruit which was gone for early workout.

Great stay

We stayed at the Marriott to attend our son’s graduation from University at Albany. The location was great, it was so close to all of the stores and restaurants which were so convenient. Great bar and restaurant at the property where we had breakfast. Staff was friendly. Our room was okay, the bathroom was a strange layout, the toilet was so close to the shower. You had to be careful not to knock your head on the shower door. However, my father stayed in a room down the hall from us and his bathroom was fine. The hallways could use some updating. But it was a clean space and the hotel met our needs.

The property is very clean with desirable updated rooms. I found the entire staff to be exceptionally customer service focused. Although I arrived early and there were several functions being conducted in the various ballrooms, my room was ready which was a pleasant surprise. There are two pools (one inside/one outside) along with outside seating that is a welcome addition. Fitness center provides several various types of equipment and is pleasantly spread out . Conveniently located near various restaurants, stores, etc. I have already made another reservation and this hotel will be my preference whenever visiting the Greater Albany area.

An incidental fee/deposit was added to my bill and was not deleted from my credit card bill. Upon checking in I was informed that there is a fee for the wifi.

Unable to get breakfast before a conference and not open for lunch.
