Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Charlotte South End Airport

This place looked and smelt old and outdated, my keycard (and replacement after complaining) would not work at all, had to have security open with a master key, ended up not leaving my room the entire night. There's a seedy looking gentleman's club next door. The entire property just smelled old and moldly, room APPEARS clean at first glance until inspecting mattress. Air condition was noisey, rattling and has a moldly smell. I had no choice but to stay here due to a cancelled flight and would never again. Rather sleep in the airport next time. At least there was an airport shuttle.

It’s old and has a bad smell

When we checked in there was temporary air conditioning in the lobby which is never a good sign. Buckets and fans along hallways. The hotel was clearly under renovations and should likely be shut down. The airport shuttle van was in bad shape but did get us to the airport.

I waited in the pick-up line for the transportation to my hotel for over 2 hours therefore I didn't arrive to the hotel until 2 AM. Was told that the computer may have not be able to check me in. I waited in the hotel lobby for over 30 min. and then was given a key to my room. Upon waking in the morning, I found that I only had one towel and not washcloth or shampoo. I went to the lobby asking where the advertised breakfast and restaurant was located, I was then told that there was no breakfast or restaurant because of remodeling. The conference center was empty except for broken water features and broken artificial trees. Very dirty, absolutely disgusting. I am expecting a full refund as the advertised amenities were not available and the service was terrible.

Tired old room, but it was better than sleeping on the airport floor. Definitely not worth the amount paid. Staff was friendly. Airport shuttle was already booked for next morning so we paid for a Lyft.

Air conditioning in the hallways and elevators was off. The room air was barely working. The whole hotel is rundown and old. It took 3 tries for the staff to get me a working key.

We checked into the property and immediately noticed it was a bunch of hotels combined into one. The ac was not working in the lobby and the didn’t seem to be working in the room either. The carpet was disgusting, there were weird red stains on the lamp shades, pillows were tiny with oversized cases folded over. The property was very confusing, we checked into one building and then had to walk a long way to get to the room in another building that we weren’t able to park near. The pictures of the property are deceiving, don’t it’s nothing like the property. Read all the negative reviews first before you book here, I made the mistake of not doing that. We checkout of the hotel before even unpacking and had to jump through hoops to get a refund back from Expedia but finally did. We stayed at Spark By Hilton, it was a little more money but worth every penny!

Broken a/c with no maintenance in house after 7 pm and no option to change room. Bugs in large numbers in the bathroom (see video). The policy seems to be, you paid then you are stuck; deal with it.
