Beach House Resort Hilton Head Island

The rooms were a bit small

Great spot directly on the beach. Clean and nice pool with excellent service poolside for drinks and food. The tiki hut is adjacent which brings in a crowd and live music. Really a fun spot if you enjoy people watching and meeting new people from everywhere because the tiki hut draws in all the vacationers from across the island haha. We’ve stayed here before but this year with the addition of Sweet Al’s coffee shop was awesome getting a fresh coffee in the morning on our way to walk the beach. My family loves this spot and we’ve been enjoying staying at the beach house over the years and watching its transformation all for the best too.

Beds were never made up and property was a bit tired and in need of a refurbishment

The resort itself is in a nice location - right on the beach, within the walking / biking distance from the shops and restaurants. A pool is fairly nice but can get pretty crowded. The tiki restaurant is definitely a highlight of the place. Beach vibes and live music daily with just steps away from the ocean. The rooms are little dated, but they provide what you need - minus the microwaves for some reason. Honestly my hesitation with recommending the resort comes from overwhelming amount of fees, misc charges and in general high prices. It feels like resort lures you in with a good initial value display, and then makes up all the money on back end with fees. I understand that some taxes are completely out of property control, but some seem an intentional way to collect. For example, why are we presented with the daily fee to pay for homeless and food charity? It says it's something the company made commitment to, but in reality it's the guests that made a commitment they didn't sign off on. Besides already paying near 2k initially for 4 nights, we then get slapped with resort fees, 25% of which are more fees and taxes. And an additional fee for literally checking out at 11:02am instead of 11? It just feels like the place provides you a pool but charges at a rate of a tropical all-inclusive resort. Then nickel and dimes you on top of it all. If you don't care about the cost, I think you will have a good time here. But from looking around, I think there are better options for stay around Hilton Head.
