Residence Inn Detroit Troy/Madison Heights

This Residence Inn is in very poor condition and not well managed.

Dirty rooms , requested room cleaning ,they changed towels only . No trash can in bathroom. Also i had to walk in cold weather to get to reception where they serve the breakfast .

There were cobwebs throughout the studio unit I stayed in. The bar holding the shower curtain was broken. The web site advertised an evening Manager’s reception. There wasn’t one.

The property was quiet, well-lit, and safe. The accommodations were clean and well-maintained. I would recommend the property.

Most rooms only have a gold blanket on bed no comforter , etc. not appealing. Facility needs up-grading to compare with Marriott properties. I will not stay here again.

Great staff but the property is old and needs updating. Broken closet doors, poorly stocked kitchen (no flatware, one cooking pot, no glasses, no coffee maker, and no hand soap in the bathrooms.

I have never seen a residence inn set up like this. Outside entrances. The property was not kept up well (kicked in screens, lawn chairs). You had to walk behind each building to get to the backside rooms going between buildings. In the dark at night. They also require a $12 a day parking fee. Front desk personnel was incredibly gracious, changed our room twice and ultimately canceled our reservation after we checked in. She offered to do it no charge for the night which I greatly appreciated. However I believe this might happen a lot at the property.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I booked a room for 5 days, I arrived at the property around 11am to view the room before coming back at 3 to check in. The front desk clerk was unprofessional, rude, and sloppily dressed and refused to let us view the room. I then ask if I didn’t like the room at check in could I get a refund, she stated there was no manager on duty until Monday to process a refund so I cancelled my reservation and she acted like everything was okay for the cancellation. Do you know they tried to charge my card $215.44? Thank goodness I have a great bank who refunded my money and stopped payment. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Room was older. Bath section showing age. The bed was comfortable. Noisy Interstate highway was near the hotel.

It was reasonably priced & spacious
