Singular Joy Downtown Residences

The property itself was lovely. The rooftop has one relatively large pool and one smaller pool as well as a smaller heated pool (not quite a hot tub), overlooking the beach below. Very nice. The rooms and apartments were clean and neat. However, for most of our stay, we had no hot water and had to call someone to access our safe. Waiting around for the guy to arrive was a waste of our time. And we did eventually get some hot water, but only in one bathroom.

Great location! Close to water, shopping and night life. No AC in our room tho.

Overall the staff was friendly. Marco was very accomodating and did his best for us to be confortable. The rooftop with the swimming pool is great. However future guests have to know it’s noisy : chairs in the rooms above and the music from the night clubs / bars in the same street, until late at night. Guests must know because of the proximity of the buildings the only view you can get from your room is the building or the other room next door. Although the website mentions « laundry » there are no laundry facilities for the guests. In the first room we had , the towels, the bedsheets and the sofa were stained. On the ceiling of the shower there were mould. The a/c was noisy. In the second room we moved in, one of the windows was broken and fixed with some tape only. The a/c worked very well. To access the building from outside there are no elevators. The only elevator from outside is for the wheelchairs.

This was a beautiful hotel/ condo complex. Very close to the beach as well as pedestrian street that had malls, restaurants, convenient stores and street food. It is loud at night until about 3-4am. It did not bother though. Also I would like to mention the fact that Singular Joy is very close to the ocean, it does not have any beach front area however.

Our suite was spacious and comfortable and the rooftop pool and hot spa were excellent.

Location is fantastic. Steps from the beach and 5th avenue. Be warned there are two clubs a block away and the music will be thumping until 2am or so. If you are early to bed and a light sleeper, you might want to pass on this place. If you want to rent a car, parking is fairly easy to find on the street, but you'll have to pay 10 MXP per hour from 10am-10pm. The room itself was beautiful, very modern and nice balcony. The rooftop pool was to die for. Housekeeping was hit and miss, only had housekeeping one day out of 4 after I repeatedly asked, even though they said they would come daily. Overall a nice stay, but there are a lot of options in Playa, so stay here if the price is right, but beware of the noise situation.

Terrible experience. Staff was rude and disrespectful. The air conditioner didn’t work, wifi didn’t work either. Front desk staff never helped when asked for help. I checked out few days earlier because I couldn’t stay there without air conditioner.

Location is great . Next to lots of stores, restaurant and night clubs. Not a good place if you want to relax. To much noisy at night.

We only stayed one night. Toilet was broken and we couldn’t use it No toiletries, when we asked the staff they told us they can’t get any and we have to wait for the relevant person to start The carpet in our room was dirty and hadn’t had a good hoover in weeks. There was rubbish from the previous guests, clothes labels, plastic wrapper, nail clippings on the floor. Close to the busy party road which makes it loud at night.
