Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort - a concept by Hyatt

My husband got this "grand" deal (a steal) he said. Let me tell you our experience. It started upon arrival when we had to wait over an hour for our room. During our wait I noticed an over abundance of children running around and playing in the sandbox right in the middle of the lobby. Now I don't have anything against kids but we weren't expecting it and there were A LOT of them. Maybe they all got the "good deal" too. I could go on and on. Service was always with a smile but service was slim. We had problems with getting our car at the "all valet" location. Waited too long every time we wanted it. And they charge $60/day to park the car. Room was claustrophobically small. Ocean view was "partial ocean" at best. The location seems too small but maybe it's because of the amount of people (and children). Seemed very crowded!!! I felt like I could not have a moment in paradise. It's all very commercialized. Don't go to the beach there, they pile people on top of each other. I've been going to Maui for over 40 years. I've stayed everywhere on the island. Good and not so good. The Andez, I left Maui feeling sad. I felt like I'd been herded in and herded out.

great location in one of our favorite destinations. The staff is competent and courteous. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast buffet is outstanding but expensive. facilities are as you would expect. location, staff and breakfast are the best part of this stay.

Poor status holder recognition and staff not particularly focused on quality of the experience. Beach staff (and inclusions) were a highlight - really only part of experience where you felt hospitality.

The Andaz in Maui was a trip I set my eyes on once I became a globalist and I really enjoyed it here. The location is as good as can be imagined, right on Mokapu Beach and right next to Ulua Beach. The hotel common areas are well-designed, elegant with amazing views of the ocean. The breakfast at Ka’ana Kitchen was a really appreciated perk, with a great and varying selection. Staff were friendly throughout. Although I think the hotel was full, it did not feel crowded. There is a shuttle that can take you around Wailea, although we did not use it because we had rented a car. The rooms were very nice, and although I was a little disappointed not to be upgraded, it was understandable given our travel dates. It really stuck out to me that no matter where your room is, it’s easy to get where you’re going on the property. We were only able to get 12pm and 1pm checkout times for our rooms, but they have courtesy rooms available that you can use. Free (and functional) laundry was a really nice amenity. Such an amazing place to stay and terrific experience!

Andaz Wailea Beach is a beautiful luxurious resort with an amazing beach. The snorkeling at the beach was great as was the walking path, yoga, and gym. The pool area and gardens are perfect reflections of the tropical Hawaiian climate. It was fun to watch the whales jump while sitting on the balcony. We did not enjoy the squishy bed or bathroom design - the glass shower in the middle of the room and the loudest, echoing toilet we have ever experienced.

We stayed as a family in February. There was plenty of room at the beach and pools. The beach is lovely and the snorkeling was a 10. As a guest you can sign up for kayak or outrigger outings including with your resort fee and there are a variety of activities like lei making or bingo included for entertainment. Every afternoon the mochi man came around and it was a great afternoon treat for all but my kids especially loved it! The breakfast buffet was quite good but very pricey. We have stayed at a variety of luxury resorts and I expect to pay a premium; however, I felt like the food and drinks were premium++ pricing and I don’t love being gouged left and right for drinks, smoothies, kids menu, etc.

This was my first time trying temporary tattoo and it was such a great experience. I definitely would recommend all of you who are staying at andaz maui to try it out!! While Justin (aka the best artist ever🤩🤩) was doing the design, he shared stories of his life which inspired me in so many ways. I learned about life that i never could've imagined. I was sort of figuring things out in life at the moment and he said to follow my heart and that it would lead me to the right path. Including the amazing tattoo he did I just absolutely loved chit chatting with him the entire time!! I strongly recommend you try this out!

Beautiful hotel with great service. Four tiers of pools all with great views leading down to a lovely beach. Very nice, clean facilities. Don’t miss out on the activities— we did the complementary outrigger canoe excursion and it was awesome. We felt relaxed and well taken care of for our entire stay!

The hotel is absolutely amazing. It is pretty new, everything is clean, the rooms are spacious. The receptionist was very kind and gave us all the information. The breakfast was really good. AND: If you come during the winter season, especially in February, and you are a bit lucky, you can see whales right from the balcony!

Beautiful location; natural, well maintained and attractive common areas and grounds; many pools with plenty of lounges and umbrellas; on a small but very nice beach. Spa is terrific and can be used all day with a service. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice but a bit small. There were some unexpected fees and parking fee was unexpected and high, but this place is not for those on a budget.
